The X Files Rock!
Created: 18/02/11
I'm glad to own all 9 seasons of the X Files in one convenient box. The only drawback is the actual box itself that is very susceptible to shelf wear. I really enjoy watching these DVD's with special features such as deleted scenes, list of the cast and commentaries by the directors. Other special features are located on other discs include DVD ROM features, the creation of the season and comments by Chris Carter and other directors. Over all I am very happy with my purchase of this set and was even more excited to find the X Files Fight the Future poster and other fan material inside!

The Truth Is Out There....If You Get Off Your Back Side

This product, according to Fox, gathers together all nine seasons, the film, and the Mythology Threads featurettes off the Mythology collections. The nine seasons are thankfully in the original release format, with all special features included. The feature film appears to have the same contents as the current DVD release as well. As for the featurettes, they appear on a disc of their own.
For a box set this big (61 discs), it's priced fairly reasonably as opposed to the 9-season collection that can be found elsewhere on Amazon. However, Fox needs to make sure this is the last time they re-dip the series; maybe they should release it on Blu-Ray to make the HD fanboys happy.
Be warned: if you bought the initial season-by-season releases (not the slimpaks) and the movie separately, there's nothing new here. The featurettes on the last disc are also nothing new, as they appeared on the pointless Mythology arc sets that were released on DVD a while back. However, for anyone new to the series or anyone who's been hesitating to buy the series on DVD, this is a great pickup for its price.

The X files Complete collection

The physical presentation is sturdy and provides safe storage for the seasonal collections and the "Fight the Future" two disk movie. The storage box also contains a pull out drawer which is large enough to hold the "I Want to Believe" offering and all the printed material. The storage box is covered with metalized artwork recognized by the x-fan. The lid is of the flip out-up-over and has a magnetic catch. The seasonal collections are contained in individual binders and present a nice look and handy size. All-in-all a good storage solution for the content.
The complete episodes and extra features are in logical order and cover almost every question imaginable regarding the series. To complete the X Fies collection, it will need the addition of "The Lone Gunmen" complete series collection. A must have addition to complete back stories and plot development of the parent production.
The plot and acting are well presented and character development over the entire series is good to excellent. The overall story revolves around an FBI agent with a past and his thirst to uncover and understand his past problems and at the same time understand the tenuous interconnected reasons for his life. He is assigned an agent to work with him to solve the FBI's most inscrutable and unsolved cases, the X-Files. The cases range from the paranormal to the metaphysical. Cast in to this is the secret government involvement and involvement of a civilian group to protect the human race from the original inhabitants of Earth. The original life form developed into what society refers to as aliens with the associated advanced space vehicles and their friends and enemies. A good story told in a manner which leaves you with answers and questions and a thirst for the next episode.

Science fiction Box Set, Masterpiece
Created: 18/10/10
I recently purchased "The X-Files - Ultimate Collection (DVD, 2007, 61-Disc Set)". The set comes in a sleek and atractive black box with very well designed art work all over. Each season, is a disk book which includes all the episodes and a comentaries disk. What makes it great is the inclusion of the first motion picture in the series. I bought this disk set because I am an x- files fan and This collection looked really well thought out.

Great Set
Created: 17/06/10
I was waiting on the right price on this item and finally it happened but planned to buy this along time ago, so I was sold way before I bought it. I was a little shocked how small this is. The picture is really deceiving, I know what your thinking its just a box with the slim sets inserted but that's not the case. Its turns out its much smaller then that. It consists of about 10 cd size albums of each season. So its basically as wide as a cd, and as long as 10 of the mini albums and barely as high as a normal dvd. So its size is really misleading unless you saw it in store already. So its very small, I suggest you look at it in person if your expecting it bigger like I was.
Id give it excellent rating for X Files alone, but its main flaw is the cheap, cardboard holders. Each CD had a plastic bag but once you remove it its just 2 flaps of cardboard/paper that holds the DVD in place in the albums. So chances are high it will get scuffed, I only have one other set like this, The Little House On The Prairie Complete set uses cardboard/paper sleeves instead of real plastic holders. So beware of that. This is probably worse since its 2 little flaps about the size of your finger nail that hold the dvd in place.
I also couldn't find the poster, cards extras in my set, seems there is 2 versions of this, if you look closely, since I wonder if there isn't 2 ultimate sets, 1 big full size, and 1 smaller mini version. So beware look at the spines of the albums they appear different especially at amazon.com. So check that out if your really picky and wanting that poster and cards. Or could be I can't find it.
Also US Mail banged mine, the corners look smashed and dented, so you may want to spend a bit extra in shipping if your picky about the condition of yours, but no dvds are broke that I can see. Ive always been a fan, not hardcore like some, but a fan enough to buy the entire set at the right price, watch those prices, if you spent over 200 you spent too much, you might as well buy the older dvd individual seasons. But I think if you get this under $120 you should be good, paying more for cheap dvd paper/cardboard holders for each dvd seems steep, In my opinion.
Great set otherwise, great to have them all, in 1 neat spot, but I do have my doubts about its longevity but I guess I will see, its the sacrifice that is made to make it so compact. Honestly I think they did this on purpose to get you to buy another set down the road, but that's just my opinion.
