The X-Files - Ultimate Collection (DVD, 2007, 61-Disc Set, Canadian)

This product, according to Fox, gathers together all nine seasons, the film, and the Mythology Threads featurettes off the Mythology collections. The nine seasons are thankfully in the original release format, with all special features included. The feature film appears to have the same contents as the current DVD release as well. As for the featurettes, they appear on a disc of their own.

For a box set this big (61 discs), it's priced fairly reasonably as opposed to the 9-season collection that can be found elsewhere. However, Fox needs to make sure this is the last time they re-dip the series; maybe they should release it on Blu-Ray to make the HD fanboys happy.

Be warned: if you bought the initial season-by-season releases (not the slimpaks) and the movie separately, there's nothing new here. The featurettes on the last disc are also nothing new, as they appeared on the pointless Mythology arc sets that were released on DVD a while back. However, for anyone new to the series or anyone who's been hesitating to buy the series on DVD, this is a great pickup for its price.

I don't see the point in writing this review. If you've heard of the X-Files, you've probably seen it. It's one of the BEST sci-fi series ever on TV.

The show is so convincing, it makes me think maybe our government is using it ( the X-Files show )as a vehicle to hint at real events.

It doesn't get any better than this ! OK - The clothing and hair is 1990's all the way, but that's nostalgia !

This collection contains all the series episodes and the Fight the Future movie. The episodes have not been digitally updated for this release, but that in no way makes this any less of a great buy. The collection is packaged well, with each season contained in its own book style envelope, complete with relevant quotes from that season printed on the back. A few booklets and other goodies make this some of the best money I've ever spent on DVDs.

This is such a good collection. Nine complete seasons, a full length movie (the first movie, not the new one), and a bonus comic book, poster, and other bells and whistles. It comes in a nice collectors case as well with magnetic closure.

Big fan of the X-Files. Its a great show. I bought it becauce it was a great deal and can't wait to watch it!
