Give it a shot!!

I never played the first part, so I am not going to tell you, that if you liked the first one, this one is better. Instead, I am going to tell you what I think are the goods and the bads. First the goods. Plenty of characters to choose from. Although you can only play with four at at a time, there are still plenty of choices. And each one with diffrent powers, so the mix and match combonations could be endless. Another thing that I find intresting, is the levels. Talk about being able to xplore whereever. And there is always something hidden in a box, a barrel, or in a corner. If you can break it, chances are there is something there. The story line was great. Kept me into the game. I remember when I first started playing it, I was like shouldn't take to long to beat, boy was I wrong. A couple of bad things that I didn't like, was the fact that there has to always be 3 other X-men with you at all times. This makes things tricky, cause it takes you that much longer to "level up". And if you set the computer controlled X-Men to not attack, you will find yourself surrounded by enemies without any help. I would have liked atleast an option to go at it solo. Also, there are times in the game, when you just feel lost. One X-Men will say to another, we need to disable that fan to get the object, but it gives you no indication of how or whom to use. Maybe it just me, but it confuses me at times.
Overall a great game, and plenty of re-playability. Go thru it once with one team of X-Men, and then go again with another team. That way you can see who has the best mutant powers, and which team is more devistating. So far, Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, and Cyclops is what I have done the most damage with. Hope this helped...Bezerker Furry~~

Not as good as the first

While there were increased options among characters to use. The story seems to have taken a hit. It doesn't capture you as well as the first one. But the gameplay is really fun. Graphical quality was definitely stepped up. (Now the boost moves have visible effects on the character, as in Iceman's Ice Armor actually shows) Along with a different level up experience. Plus there's a new character who isn't an X-Man. Sorry no spoilers here :P

One of the Best Games I've Played

If you love X-Men and role playing games you will love X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse. If you played the first one you will definitely notice the improvements. Game play is about the same but now there are 8-12 active powers that you can have for your X-man instead of last years 4. There are also tons of Marvel characters to choose from in this game that make it amazing. The graphics are marvelous and the story is compelling. Great levels, objectives, and fighting capabilities.
One of the coolest things about this game is how up to four friends can play the story mode together as their own character (wolverine, gambit, cyclops, .. you choose).

Very challenging for young teenagers. Lots of levels to overcome. Great game for young teenagers as well as adults like me. I like the 1-4 players idea.

I've been playing RPG games along many years. There are good and bad ones, but I think the X-Men Legends franchise has been doing a great and entertaining sequel with this one, Rise Of The Apocalypse. In a way this game, reminds me the addiction that I had playing with Diablo franchise.
The characters are very entertaining to upgrade and also with the equipment they may find across the levels. One of the funniest things I found in this game as good as the first game is the fact that you can break and smash many objects in the game and I really enjoy it when all of my enemies are beated. And the good sound FX is great in this game also. Another thing that I evaluate when I play a game is the replayability of the game, and this game got it.
Resuming, More characters, new powers and a vast set of upgrades do the rest. As an X-Men fan I am, I think this is the most entertaining X-Men game up to date.
