    Publisher's Note
The war for survival of the planet Lusitania will be fought in the hearts of a child named Gloriously Bright.

On Lusitania, Ender found a world where humans and pequininos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought.

Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus that kills all humans it infects, but which the pequininos require in order to become adults. The Startways Congress so fears the effects of the descolada, should it escape from Lusitania, that they have ordered eh destruction of the entire planet, and all who live there. The Fleet is on its way, a second xenocide seems inevitble.

Afraid that the descolada--the deadly virus that the pequininos require to transform themselves into adults--may escape the confines of Lusitania, the Starways Congress order the destruction of the entire planet. Reprint.

Xenocide is the 3rd book in the Award Winning Ender Series. It is most certainly a different read from the previous two books. In my personal opinion, Xenocide was more difficult to get through then any other book in the series. However, I STRONGLY recommend keeping at it to the end, you will be glad that you did. The Size of Xenocide can be overwhelming, but buy the middle of the book you begin to wonder how they could ever finish it with only that much left. New Worlds, along with new characters will be introduced. There are truly so many exciting story lines going on, that you won't want to wait to see what happens next. The story of an additional Main character is simultaneously told in an interweaving adventure of science, faith, and the mysteries of the universe. The connection between the reader and existing characters becomes even stronger as you are brought through the trials and accomplishments in their lives. This book will shake your beliefs, and peer into the understanding of our own souls. Be sure to have the next book in the series handy (Children of the Mind), because you are going to want it the minute you finish this one.
