XPW Returns!!!
Created: 21/11/09
First of all, the event card is not as it was advertized. Even on the back of the DVD they dishonestly tell you
there will be things that are not on the DVD at all. I will explain these during the match listing to follow. This
event also seemed half-hearted in a lot of ways.Only some of the guys worked hard, and some guys no-showed
or turned down doing the show like Shane Douglas. Remember the promo he cut years ago about putting XPW on
his back, to carry it to the top of the business? Yeah well he didn't, then or now. The arena had too many lights on,
some guys didn't have their ring gear, a lot of things were just not what they should have been. If you're going to call
it the "Biggest Night in XPW History" then do it right, go all the way. It WAS a star studded card with a lot of promise
including the return of the REAL Larry Rivera, but it just didn't have the magic for me. Great Pre-show too!!
Vampiro vs. Kaos
Due to the storyline Vampiro didn't have his gear on. No face paint, no cool gear just a T-shirt, basketball shorts,
pads and shoes. Anyway the match was GREAT! Lots of really hard hits, light tubes and hard work. 4/5 Stars
Angel vs. GQ Money
This had potential to be one of (if not THE) bloodiest on the card. It wasn't. Turned out to be a fairly
uneventful handicap match when GQ Money brought in some dude named BB Kubrick or something. 2/5 Stars for the suprises!!
Pogo the Clown vs. Sandman
This was originally carded to be Pogo vs. Tool. The match was uneventful and very short. 2/5 Stars
Why is TOOL wearing his gimp mask with a T-shirt, jeans and fancy leather shoes??
Raven & Johnny Webb vs. Homeless Jimmy & Khan Kussion (w/ Guest Referee Terry Funk)
Sabu is injured (if it's legit I'm not sure) so he's there for all of 15 seconds and is replaced by Khan Kussion who
is apperently his student, and who is dubbed "Stringbean" by Raven. Raven by the way takes the mic and
does his own commentary during the match, including while he's in the ring. Great stuff. It was also really great
to see Jimmy and Webb again. I love those guys!! And, my pal Ronnie from Atlas Security gets some camera time!!
The match gets 3/5 Stars but no higher because Sabu was replaced.
Team RevPro vs. Team XPW
Disco Machine. Joey Ryan & Ron Rivera vs. Jardi Franz, Vinnie Massaro & X-Pac
0/5 Stars
Luke Hawx vs. Scorpio Sky vs. Jack Evans (originally carded to be Psicosis)
Finally, a good match. I thought Vamp & Kaos were gonna be the only good match. 4/5 Stars
The Westsiders vs. The Gangstas
Now, for some reason the WSN are in the ring cutting a promo on Jack & Mustafa and
then some random tag team Kloss referred to as the "Garbage Pail Kids" go at it with WSN. Jack & Mustafa
come out, kick both teams' @$$ and then WSN just leave. They walk out on the match and leave the
match to be New Jack & Mustafa vs. the other team who from what I know are students at Kaos' wrestling school.
This is also Jack's last match. Gets a 4/5 for the Gangstas reunited, the blood & violence and Jacks farewell speach.
Supreme vs. Necro Butcher
(XPW King of the Deathmatch Champiosnhip - No Rope Barbed Wire, Beds of Everything Double Hell Deathmatch)
This match is a dream for fans of Deathmatch wrestling. 4/5 Stars
Bonus features are the Miss Extreme Contest, Dynamite D: XPW Fallen Heroes Battle Royal, 6 Classic XPW Matches
Promo Videos, Trailers, Soundtrack & More
