Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour (Nintendo DS, 2005)

I just recently bought YuGiOh! Nightmare Troubadour for the Nintendo DS from ebay.com about a couple of months ago....this video game is very addicting!! I am very impressed with the graphics of the duelists themselves. all of the original duelists of the ever-so-popular series of YuGiOh! are here.
There is: Yugi Muto,Yami Yugi,Joey Wheeler,Seto Kaiba,Mokuba,Tea Gardner,
Rebecca(The blonde girl holding a teddy bear.),Bakura(Both the friendly version and the evil version.),Mai Valentine,and many more!! What I really like is that you can eventually become friends with several of the duelists which is a plus side because they eventually give you deck recipes as well as you can trade cards with them if you have a card or so that your duelist friend asks of you...I almost always walked away with the better card in the trade with that duelist friend that you make. For example, just the other day Yugi Muto asked me on this video game for my Kuriboh (300 Attack points,the weakest monster in the whole game of Duel Monsters...even though I knew he would use his Multiply card on me eventually which he has done hundreds of times in the TV series. Of course,Yugi Muto did use my former Kuriboh against me with the Multiply card I had a sneaking suspicion with.) and he gave me his Beta The Magnet Warrior. (1700 Attack points...it became his former card that I accepted the trade and used his former card against him a few times!!) If you are a really big fan of the YuGiOh! cartoons,you won't be disappointed with this game...I am almost about to beat this video game already!! On the friendship thing again,also if you really like YuGiOh! I bet all fans of YuGiOh! have a duelist or two that they would like to be friends with in reality. Me personally,I would really like to be friends with Yami Yugi and Yugi Muto as they are quite inseparable as well as very hard to beat plus they both have a great deal of possitive things about both of them...and they share one body!! The only negative things about this video game is first off,the monsters don't actually battle each other which I was disappointed about. Second off,the graphics may be excellent with the duelists as they look exactly like on TV but the monster designs could use some work. Third,you must play the "hot or cold" thing with finding a duelist but on the possitive end is when you make friends then you don't have to find them but instead you just hi-light that friend's name and you will automatically go to him/her. I think that this is an excellent video game for the YuGiOh! fan in all of us no matter how young or young at heart that we are and you don't have to be a fan of YuGiOh! to like this video game!!(It would be easier to at least get a feel for the video game if you watch people duel with the actual cards or watch the cartoon series which would in my opinion be a "sure thing to learn faster on how the game works.) I bought this video game because my cousin owns a copy and I was impressed yet inspired to buy my own copy. Also,I am a HUGE fan of YuGiOh! especially of Yugi Muto and Yami Yugi so I was especially eager to duel each of these two!!

I love the variety of cards. The game really is true to life because you pay the points that you earn while dueling in order to buy individual packs of cards and they are always random. It feels just the same as when you open a fresh pack in real life. The more you play, the more packs become available for purchase. There is an awful lot of duels with the same people but if you look up a walkthrough you should be able to figure out how to move forward in progress. Other than a small amount of Engrish text, the game translated pretty good and gameplay is very simple. Very true to the anime. Great game if you want to play something that takes place later in the Yugioh series before they started branching new shows off of it. It all takes place from Battle City and forward.

These are one of those few worthwhile games that are kind of low in stock. The graphics are a major improvement from the previous PS1/PS2, GB/GBC, and GBA line of Yu-Gi-Oh! Games. The story itself is comprehensive, makes a lot of sense since there is an actual story instead of just a bunch of random duels. Personally, I got this since it was easy to find on eBay, and I could link it up with my other Yu-Gi-Oh! DS games such as Spirit Caller and World Championship 2007. I'd recommend this to anyone; makes a great gift for kids especially. For parents that want to limit their kid's playing time and focus on their studies, the game is actually fairly nice for this approach. You could probably have them do 5-10 duels a day and keep up with their work. It's not a very time-intensive game. Each duel should take no more than 10 minutes, 5 usually. The loading time is quite fast, and the animation is both 2D and 3D since there are 2 screens involved. For collectors, since the promotional cards are actually hot, especially Magician's Circle, the game itself would be a good collector's item. If it's factory sealed, you could keep it for a while, and it'd only get more rare and harder to find. For people that use public transportation, sometimes it's very crowded on a bus or a train, and you can't find a seat. Games that are very time-intensive and interactive may be hard to play, but you can play this while standing up if you want to; it really makes no difference and it relieves a lot of stress sometimes. It's a great buy for anyone. For those people on a budget, you can find the game for $30 or so, if you want to keep the game, just sell off the cards factory sealed and you can keep the game at no real expense to yourself. My rating would be 4 out of 5 since a games are never truly perfect, since there are a few spelling glitches in every game, that's about it.

The first touch-play Yu-Gi-Oh game, Nightmare Troubadour, allows to navigate a city map to find duel opponents by using the touchscreen. Once a duel is initiated, the touch screen becomes a 2D card playing field , while the top screen becomes a 3D arena that shows monsters rising from their cards to battle! Players can duel one another wireless, as well as trade over 1000 of the newest Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. A special "Friendship" feature in single player mode will trigger special in-game events when you register your friend as duel colleague. Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour also features the unique "Game Time," where time within the game advances as you move and take turns in duels. The time of day can affect duelist appearance rates and special events. Overall it's an EXCELLENT game!!!

This game offers hours of fun for any Yu-gi-oh fan. In the game you duel many of the characters from the different seasons of Yu-gi-oh. You can buy different cards in the game with the money you earn from dueling. You do not need to use the touch screen, but it is helpful to use it to select the cards and duel in a similar way to the PC versions of Yu-gi-oh. Every new level you get 10 cards. In the game you go around the city for duels and you can enter different tournament. This is a great new way from Yu-gi-oh fans to duel and collect Yu-gi-oh cards without having the mess of the real cards and having to find someone to actually duel with you.
