Movie synopsis
Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) isn't smart, but he looks "really, really good." An empty-headed yet kindhearted male model, the self-absorbed Derek becomes an unwitting pawn in a international assassination plot masterminded by oddball fashion dictator Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell). Meanwhile, the clueless cover guy must also contend with a new rival, a blonde hipster named Hansel (Owen Wilson). Only adding to his troubles is Matilda Jeffries (Christine Taylor), an inquisitive and sensitive journalist.Stiller's charming and silly comedy liberally skewers the fashion industry while showcasing the actor-director-screenwriter's quirky humor. He casts his real-life family in the film: wife Christine Taylor, sister Amy Stiller, father Jerry Stiller, and mother Anne Meara. As a director, Stiller invokes entertaining performances from Wilson and Ferrell. He also adds cameos by a multitude of celebrities including David Bowie, Natalie Portman, and Lenny Kravitz.

This is the kind of movie you get or you do not. It is silly and funny but smartly written - not an easy thing to do!
Ben Stiller plays Zoolander, a dim-witted male model from a coal mining family. His life had been so hard - the poor guy cannot turn left! Now he is the toast of town until new model Hansen (he's so hot right now!) steals his thunder and wins the VH1 Fashion Award for best male model. After some hard times Zoolander seems on the verge of a comeback when big-time designer Mugatu chooses him for the new Derelict campaign. But Mugatu has a secret agenda - to brainwash Zoolander and have him kill the PM of Malaysia who opposes child labor.
The cast is great, there are many cameos by models, actors and rock stars - gotta love Bowie as the walk-off judge! This is one of those movies that grow on you, the more you watch it the more you like it! Highly recommended.

It's funny, witty, and the chemistry between Wilson and Stiller is amazing.
Will Ferrel, Jerry Stiller, Billy Zane, and Christine Taylor round out this amazing cast of comedy greats.
Zoolander features some of the best one-liners in a comedy film I've ever heard.

If you like silly

A rather silly movie, but very funny. Ben Stiller will teach you all about the life of a male model. Derek Zoolander (Stiller) is not the most brilliant person in the world, but he sure is, as he puts it, 'really, really, really good looking.'
Ben Stiller is hilarious in this film, along with his co-star Owen Wilson and the other handful of big name stars.
If you like corny comedy, this movies is for you.

"Good Comedy!"

with another popular model. Ben is funny as usual and this
dvd has nice picture and sound plus neat extras. Get this

Great Spoof of the Modelling Industry

) The first time I watched ZOOLANDER, I didn't understand it. Then AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL brought modelling into the public eye. I watched ZOOLANDER again, and the satire was dead-on. My favorite scene: Derek's airhead male-model pals playfully dousing each other with gasoline hoses to the tune of Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go." It's all fun and games until somebody lights a match! Later, when Derek opens his own school, his dead pals are immortalized by a huge fountain with water flowing from the bronze gas pumps. David Duchovny is hilarious as a former hand model who keeps his hand encased in a hyperbolic chamber. Owen Wilson steals the show as Derek's rival Hansel, who wins a modelling challenge by removing his underwear without taking off his pants. One of those movies where you notice something new each time you watch it. Definitely one to add to your comedy collection.
