Art deco at its best! You will not see or find a clock in sabino glass like this any day soon again! The pictures will never make up for the impression you get when you see this statue in person. I tried to capture the beauty from each angle.
Here are the facts;
  • Fab French art deco statue casted in spelter of a man pushing a rock. In Greek mythology Sisyphus ( /'s?s?f?s/; Greek: S?s?f?? Sísyphos) was a king punished by being compelled to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and to repeat this throughout eternity. That is what this creator of this statue was trying to capture. .
  • The rock is Sabino glass and holds 3 lamps to light the rock and clock.
  • Clockwork is an electrical battery operate clock..
  • Statue is not marked, nice old patina on the muscular man. Paint chips missing Most likely it is crafted by Geo Maxime.
  • Will take regular lamps, plug on the cord needs to be replaced by one suitable for your power outlet.
  • Its in excellent condition, some chips of paint and a few chips on the marble,one corner is glued but nothing disturbing or taking away from the beauty of this statue.
  • 1930s old and French origin.
  • Stands approx. 16" or 36 cm tall and 25" or 66 cm wide and 5.5" or 14 cm deep.
  • It’s a heavy combo approx. 40 lbs or 18 kgs. For safe and economical shipping the statues and glass will be removed from the marble stand. It will be shipped in two boxes. Buyer needs to rebuild the statue upon receipt.
