"Mongwau"

I'm excited to introduce my first realistic Tawny Owlet to you! His name is Mongwau and he is such a sweetheart! Mongwau is a Native American Hopi name which means "owl."

Mongwau stands at about 4.5” high.

Mongwau is a one of a kind (OOAK) artist baby owl completely designed and hand sewn (no machine sewing) by me, Melisa Nichols. He is very detailed and as such he is his own unique individual and can not be duplicated ~ a true one of a kind. Many, many hours went into this baby! If you fall in love with him I hope you will bid as I cannot create another owl just like Mongwau.

Mongwau is made from gorgeous recycled racoon fur that is so soft & fluffy! The super soft brown underfur and lighter guard hairs give him a realistic downy look.

Mongwau is full of detail!  He has been carefully thread sculpted, scissor sculpted and shaded. His adorable face has soulful glass eyes which I hand painted in shades of yellow. I've given him moveable eyelids so he can be posed wide awake, sleepy or fast asleep! I hand sculpted, carved, shaded and sealed his realistic epoxy clay beak.

Mongwau's feet are made from ultra suede. Each toe is individually wired for more posing abilities and realism. I hand sculpted, carved, shaded and sealed each of his talons.

Because of all this detailed work, I will never be able to create another baby owl just like Mongwau. I do not work with patterns - just from photos and drawings, so there is no pattern he can be remade from.

Mongwau is completely hand sewn and filled with polyfil, pellets (in his tummy), and an extra portion of cuddles. He has a jointed neck so he can turn his head right around. He has wire armature in his wings and legs/toes for lots of fun poses!

Mongwau can't fly, but he can exercise his wings!

Mongwau will arrive in a special box with hang tags that include his birth date, a picture of him and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. He is a collectable baby owl made for display only - not suitable for children due to small parts.
