Seller Notes: Book text split in two parts down pgs. 120-121; front board detached and missing; title page and frontispiece still attached; back board attached and still securely bound to the spine board, as is text block of both parts; all pages are present from frontispiece to the blank end page; page 121, introductory verse of Comus, a Mask, detached and still present; spine board without titlepiece, and shows plenteous scuffs and bumping and rubbing, as does likewise the back board; opening cover page of book has isignia possibly of Jim Crossly, an avid protege of Milton's very own; a few instances of pencil notes evident, clean otherwise throughout the book pages.

This book is an antique of 1755, written c. 1670 by the famous British Romantic John Milton, and was printed and published in Edinburgh by R. Urie for J. Wood

Condition:
Hinge of spine split; book separated into 2 parts at pgs 120-121; pg 121 loose from book, beginning page of the poem entitled: Comus, a Mask;
front board detached and missing, backboard still tightly secure. Two inscriptions are found on the front blank, the earliest dated 1855. 
The pages are all clean and in superb condition; other than the split that happened at page 120-121 the text is held and bound firmly together with the spine.

Book dimensions are 16 cm X 10 cm X 22 cm.

An excellent item for a book collection, an addition to your library, and as an antique book for being read, or for a rebinding and refurbishing project.
