This beautiful fully functional, cruise able houseboat belongs to my good friends Jorn & Uschi who have cared for her for many years. Once they started out at Tug Boat Annie's restaurant and used the Dania Cut Off canal and made way into deep water and the island of Grand Bahama. They left early around 6:00AM and cruised for a short time with the Discovery also going for that destination.
Even with a new and un-comprehensible GPS that just wouldn't work Jorn led them safely to the smoke stacks at Freeport by 4:00 PM that day simply by dead reckoning, compass readings and of course calculating the currents.
This is a solid strong houseboat designed to be a coastal cruiser. It can easily navigate itself to the Florida Keys, explore the edges of the everglades (2 foot Draft) and even go to the interior of Florida and visit OkeeChobee lake and traverse southern Florida.
This is a two bedroom (there are 2 conventional twin size mattresses for the upstairs and 2 foam mattresses for the down stairs bedroom), two bathroom, complete kitchen, fully functional houseboat with a nice living room and sun deck. Jorn had a 1998 MerCruizer 6 Cylinder Turbocharged 4.2L Diesel installed (250 HP) new in 1998 it currently shows only 1,616 hours. This motor works in conjunction with a Bravo 3 Out-drive. Last oil & filter change made at 1600 hours. Also cleaned water fuel separator, and Replaced Zinc anodes for the heat ex-changer. Jorn has all the repair manuals for both the motor and the out-drive.
The motor starts well and runs flawlessly it is a dependable and capable motor with it's dual counter rotatable props. This motor is also known for its great fuel efficiency. Cruising speed is 6 knots @ 2000 RPM using 2 Gal fuel per hour.
All three sinks and the shower work with hot or cold water. Both refrigerators and every appliance works in the kitchen. The propane bottles for the stove and oven are securely mounted and stored on the roof for safety. All the windows and screens are intact and working properly. The roof does NOT leak.
Because of it's age Jorn had the boat registered as an antique. The current yearly registration fee is around $12.
This boat was also formerly registered in Grand Bahama and duty paid. That registration may be brought current.
