5 AMP SCHOTTKY DIODE,

HIGHER CURRENT HANDLING WHICH CAN ALSO

WITHSTAND THE HEAT FAR BETTER

(PHYSICALLY LARGER)

THE OLDER ONE WAS ONLY 3 AMP.

TWICE THE SIZE HEATSINK ON Q-1.

WILL CERTAINLY HELP IT FROM BURNING OUT.

ALL THE CAPACITORS ARE NOW GOOD QUALITY.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING .

THIS WILL GIVE YOU THE CORRECT REASON

WHY THE CAPACITORS ON THE ORIGIONAL PS BOARD GO BAD.

Just by replacing the capacitors with higher voltage ones is NOT the answer.

A better quality capacitor is the only answer for a correct fix. 

"EXPLANATION OF A HIGHER TEMPERATURE RATED CAPACITOR"

IT JUST KEEPS THE VALUE RATING OF THE CAPACITOR MORE CONSTANT WITH CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE.

IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT CAN HANDLE A HIGHER PHYSICAL TEMPERATURE LONGER BEFORE BLOWING

NOTE: THE CAPACITORS THAT ARE ALWAYS IN QUESTION ARE C-10, C-11 & C-24  ALL THREE ARE ON THE 3.3 VOLT SUPPLY LINE. 

A 10 VOLT CAPACITOR IS QUITE SUFFICIENT. ONLY A BETTER CAPACITOR WAS NEEDED NOT A HIGHER VOLTAGE ONES.

THERE IS NO NEED AT ALL FOR 25 OR 35 VOLT CAPACITORS IN THAT CIRCUIT.

BY KEEPING MORE AIR COOLER AROUND THEM  (LIKE WE DO) WILL ALSO HELP THEM FROM DRYING UP FAST AND BLOWING OUT.

I HAVE HAD CUSTOMERS ASK IF THESE ARE PLUG-N-PLAY OR IS THER SOLDERING INVOLVED

THESE ARE PLUG-N-PLAY     NO SOLDERING AT ALL

I personally put the QC sticker on after the final test.
