High Speed HDMI Cable

Presenting High Speed Certified HDMI Cables. These cables represent the highest level of performance offered by HDMI. These cables support all the newest features including:

HDMI Ethernet Channel - HDMI Ethernet Channel technology consolidates video, audio, and data streams into a single HDMI cable, combining the unmatched signal quality and convenience of HDMI connectivity with the power and flexibility of home entertainment networking. It incorporates a dedicated data channel into the HDMI link, enabling high-speed, bi-directional networking at up to 100 Mb/sec.

3D Support - Supports several different methods of rendering 3D images.

Audio Return Channel - Allows the HDMI connection between a television and A/V receiver to transmit audio two ways, both upstream and downstream. This eliminates the need for a separate audio cable and ensures you maintain the high digital audio quality of HDMI.

4K x 2K Support - Resolution on par with state-of-the-art Digital Cinema projectors used in the local multiplexes will be coming to your living rooms. 4K x 2K represents resolutions of 3840x2160 and 4096x2160.

More Color Spaces Supported - Supports three more color space options, sYCC601 color, Adobe RGB Color and Adobe YCC601 color in addition to the X.V color support previously supported by Deep Color. These cables promise to deliver a wider palette of colors to bring you more vibrant pictures.

These High speed cables are constructed to the highest quality with full triple layer shielding from end to end, strong, solid wire welds and the highest quality materials including high purity copper, gold plated connectors and tin plated conduits

Knowledge Base:

Question: What are ferrite cores?

Answer: Ferrite cores are the cylindrical fixtures placed near the connectors to filter noise and high frequency interference.

Question: Will I get both audio and video by connecting just one HDMI cable?

Answer: Yes, HDMI is designed to deliver both high definition digital video and multi-channel digital audio.

*Some A/V recievers will only provide switching and pass through functions and will not play the audio information in the HDMI signal. It will simply pass the signal through to the display.

Question: What is AWG?

Answer: AWG stands for "American Wire Gauge." It is the thickness of the wire inside the cable. The lower number AWG denotes thicker wiring and thicker overall cable. Thicker cables are recommended for longer cable runs because they offer less resistance along the signal path.

Question: What does the gold plating refer to?

Answer: Gold plating refers to the connectors. Gold plating provides resistance against corrosion that would otherwise impede signal transfer and could damage connections on equipment.

Question: Will these cables pass a 1080p signal.

Answer: Yes.

All of our "Certified Cables" will easily pass a 1080p signal. Our extended length cables (40ft and longer) have been able to pass a 1080p signal in our own lab tests. In some situations, an equalizer was needed.

Results will vary depending on the equipment being used. Not all pairs of equipment are capable of passing signals over extended runs.

Question: Why are your cables so cheap? Are they as good as the name brand cables the retail stores are trying to get me to buy?

Answer: Yes, the cables we sell are just as high in quality, construction, materials and reliability as those typically found in retail stores. We stand behind then with a life time warranty. There are many reasons why we can bring you such great value. The main reasons would be as follows, the elimination of the middle man. Yellowknife is a cable designer andmanufacturer, and because of this we are basically bringing the product to you at wholesale prices. Retail stores and national brand products have much more overhead including, nationwide networks of stores, distribution warehouses, large commissioned sales staffs, advertising budgets, packaging, etc. But the main reason would be mark up. Most retail work on a "Loss Leader" model of sales. They advertise high ticket items at great prices leaving them with little to no margin. They make up that margin with all add on items they can sell you such as extended warranties, batteries, cases and cables. They sell these items with a very high mark up.

Question: Where can I find further information regarding HDMI specifications?

Answer: A great resource is the page on the HDMI.org website.
http://www.hdmi.org/learningcenter/faq.aspx

Question: Do I need 1.4 cables for 1080p?

Answer: No, HDMI has supported 1080p from the start. All versions of HDMI have the potential to support 1080p.

Question: How do I know if I need male to male cables or male to female?

Answer: As a rule, consumer electronics devices ALWAYS have female ports on them. (a protruding male connector would break off too easily) So, for connecting two devices together, you need a male to male cable.

Male to female cables are used to extend existing cables.

Question: Will these cables work with my new 120hz display?

Answer: Yes, absolutely.

Question: Will these cables work with 1.4 equipment?

Answer: HDMI 1.4 is backward compatible with all prior versions. However, to take advantage of the newest features you may need specific types of cables. To utilize the ethernet connection, you will need cables that are labeled, "with" ethernet. To take advantage of extended resolutions like 4K x2K and 3d support, we recommend cables that are "High Speed."
