This listing is for a pair of brand new 55w Single Beam HID Bulbs.

When choosing HID Bulbs for your vehicle you will need to consider:
  • Colour of lighting
  • Type of bulb the vehicle needs
  • If the vehicle requires a canbus HID kit
  • If the vehicle requires an adaptor for the HID bulbs to fit into the light cluster

So, you must include the following info in PayPal's "Note To Seller" section or send us an email or eBay message:

Halogen Bulbs to HID Bulbs  Bulb Size Description
H1 is a small metal based bulb with 1 prong on the base. This base is known as P14.5s. H1 bulbs are commonly used for projector headlamps, european headlamps and fog lights. H1 bulbs by default come in 55W.

H1 bulbs can be upgraded to HID with our HID conversion kit. One thing you must understand, the power to the HID ballast will come from the the one wire that  connects to the back of the H1 bulb and from ground. Most H1 headlamps and housings are grounded. H1 bulbs almost always sit on a metal base and have a anchor over their back. Some setups may not be like this, and the H1 bulb could be sitting in a special adapter.

H3 bulbs are a compact metal bulb with metal base that sits on a flat area on a headligh with a single wire coming from the back. This wire is the positive portion. The base of the bulb is the ground. H3 bulbs are commonly used in aftermarket projector headlights and fog lights of factory lamps. H3 bulbs are also used in off road light housings.

H3 bulbs when a halogen bulb are 55W with a PK22s base.

H3 bulbs are also sold as H3C bulbs. When converting H3 or H3C bulb to HID, the same HID bulb is used for both housings.

H7 bulbs are a metal base bulb with two flat prongs sticking from back. H7 bulbs are used in many euro cars such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Saab and even in some fog light housings. These  bulbs are installed with a 2 prong connector from the back and usually sit an are held down by a metal peice. Some vehicls have special adapters that hold the bulb in place. We carry these adapters for most models.  H7 bulbs are by default 55W and single filament. The base is known as PX26.

Notice there are many H7 bulbs on the market with higher wattage such as 100W halogen which will produce higher wattage, but can hurt your electrical system from the extra draw. Our HID kits will use less wattage than the factory 55W bulb rating.

H8 Bulbs are typically used in the fog lights of vehicles and sometimes headlights.

H8 Bulbs are single filament - That is only 1 beam - 2 terminals

When a conversion is done to HID for H8 bulbs the bulb gets replaced with HID version that is typically PLUG and play. Terminals may need to be inserted into your factory plug.

H9 bulbs are also known as H11 bulbs  - They are the same bulb just different wattages.

H9 is a 65W bulb when in Halogen form.

When you speak about HID kits, H9 will only use 35W but give you 3X more light than halogen factory bulb.

H9 bulbs are one of the most recent categories of bulbs that have managed to upstage all others in the market. They offer such high intense color light that they are the best option for your vehicle if you are planning for an upgrade. Imagine a bumpy road with lots of slippery passages. In such a case, you need a high quality bulb that can illuminate the path and wave off any hidden obstacles. H9 bulbs are designed with this very special feature in mind. Be it a slippery surface or a rain drenched muddy road, you can be well aware of what lies ahead by using these bulbs. These are more suitable for headlights. However, they can be used as fog lights as well depending upon the requirement as well as the design of the vehicle. These are available in five various colors which helps you to customize your vehicle without much fuss or overrated conversions

H10 bulbs are also known as 9145

Default wattage: 55W in Halogen, 35W when using HID

Uses: For use in fog lights of many types of vehicles including trucks

This category of bulbs was added to our range of application recently to provide an additional comfort as well as luxury to the most modern vehicles that are present in the road nowadays. These H10 bulbs help you to accessorize your vehicles without spending a lot of money. There is no need to customize your vehicle with a lot of conversions. These h10 bulbs provide the necessary conversions at a very lesser cost. These bulbs guarantee the safety as well as the luxury of the vehicle at a next to nil cost required for customization. These are mostly applicable for vehicles that require high intensity fog lights. These can be provided in SUVs, cars and heavy duty vehicles such as trucks. The most attractive feature is the replacement facility that is provided by the dealer on any damage to the parts within one year of purchase.

H11 bulbs are common for use in fog lights of euro vehicles and headlights.

Default wattage is 55W for halogen - 35W for HID

H11 HID are one of the most attractive packages available in this category. The attractive features that are provided by the H11 bulbs include: • They provide very effective lighting • Very rare and one of a kind color options. Irrespective of the color you choose from the wide range available, it is always a very high intense beam that is emanated from the vehicle to light up the road. • There are some special devices attached with smoothly reflects the light off from the markings and other boards in the road. • The lighting capacity is so powerful that it enables you to light up the road well ahead of actually reaching the spot. • There is also an additional guarantee period that is attached to these bulbs. Any damage would be covered within one year of purchase. This is to ensure the quality of the product

9005 bulbs are a single filament bulb used commonly for the high beam function of a headlamp. High beam refers to the second switch on your headlight switch used when wanting to see further down the road. 9005 HID conversions are simple and easy to do. The bulb has 3 tabs that twist into your headlight housing. Installing of a 9005 also known as HB3 HID bulb is the same as that of a halogen model.

9005 / HB3  bulbs has a P20d base with 90 degree angle.

9005 / HB3 bulbs have a factory halogen wattage of 65W. Beware there are many halogen bulbs on the market with higher wattage such as 100W, but you can actually hurt your wiring harness and and burn or melt wires if using such high wattage long term. It is advised if your looking for a brighter bulb, choose our HID Blub because it will actually use less wattage than 65 of the factory bulb.

9006 HID bulbs are on of the most popular bulbs for vehicles. Common uses include headlight low beams and fog light bulbs. These bulbs by nature are single filament and by default consume 55W in halogen form. 9006 bulbs are also known as HB4. Converting your headlights to HID is very simple with this bulb type. The base has 3 tabs that untwist from the headlight housing. The HID installation is just as easy.

9006/HB4 bulbs use a P22d (90°) the same base found in 9005. Infact 9005 and 9006 bulbs are almost identical except for a tab that can be shaved.

By upgrading your factory 55W bulbs to HID, there is no danger to your wiring, because the HID kit will actually use less power than the factory bulb. Further, the light output will be 2-3 times the amount.

The 880 light bulb is commonly used in the fog lights of cars and trucks. It is a small bulb that has a PG13 plastic base.

HID Temperature and Color
  • The color of light is measured and expressed in degrees Kelvin (K). The color spectrum ranges from a red to purple. HID headlamps do not have this wide of a range though there are different bulbs that skew toward either extreme. Most are more focused on the center of that range.

  • 4,300K is the temperature that is closest to natural daylight. Factory HID headlamps are setup for this color temperature. Conventional Halogen filament bulbs are yellowish which is equivalent to a 3,300K temperature. 6,000K has a bluish tint and temperatures above that are increasingly blue shifting to a purple tint.

  • Color Temperatures Available: 3000k,4300k,5000k,6000k,8000k,10000k,12000k,15000k,30000k

IInstallation Guide

Please read this guide before attempting installation. By reading the steps outlined you will be more prepared for the installation reducing possible errors and problems. Contact us if you have any trouble.

Common Tips:

  • Make sure your engine bay is cool to the touch.
  • Make certain the vehicle is in park and shut off.
  • Be careful not to crush or cut the bulb wiring..
  • Do not connect the high voltage electrodes while the light switch is on.
  • It is recommended to test each light function before final permanent installation.
  • Do not mount ballasts near extreme heat or vibration as this can shorten their life

Common Problem:

  • Lights do not turn on. Solution: Reverse polarity of the ballast plug. This simply means flip the oval plug you inserted into the ballast. Ballasts are polarity (-/+) sensitive unlike regular halogen light bulbs. Retest. If problem still exists, swap ballasts or light bulbs to diagnose if the problem is the light bulb or the ballast. In many cases, its not the HID kit that is the culprit but the vehicle. Some vehicles such as Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/BMW/Mercedes etc.. may require additional wiring/canceller plugs for HID installation.
  • Lights turn on, flicker or shut off quickly thereafter. Solution: In many cases, it's not the HID kit that is the culprit but the vehicle. Some vehicles such as Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/BMW/Mercedes etc.. may require additional wiring/canceller plugs for HID installation.

Parts included with your kit:

  • 2 x Xenon also known as HID light bulbs with wiring attached
  • 2 x Ballasts
  • All necessary Wiring & Connectors

Step 1: Open hood and locate the factory light bulb you are trying to convert. If fog lights, you may need to pull out your factory fog light housing to access the back. On some vehicles you can access factory bulbs from the engine bay or from the wheel wells with your wheels fully turned on direction. Please consult your owners manual or dealer on how to access your factory light bulbs. In 90% your bulbs are easily removed without too much trouble. Once your factory light bulb is removed, you can prepare for the HID bulb insertion.

Step 2: Remove the plastic capsule preinstalled on the HID bulb and insert into your headlight socket. HID bulbs should fit similar to your factory light bulb, but the tolerances may be slightly different on certain vehicle models. Bulb installation will vary from twisting to clamping from the back depending on the bulb type. Be very gentle with the HID glass portion. Do not touch the glass with your fingers. If it does end up getting dirty, simply wipe with clean cloth gently.

Notice: Some vehicle models may require adapters for the bulb to fit into the socket. These include H7 bulbs. Some parts off of your original headlight may be be required depending on car model. Example, 9007 light bulbs will require the reinstallation of the plastic bulb holder adapter. Some BMW/VW/Mercedes/Saab will require a metal adapter or plastic adapter to hold the bulb in place.

Step 3a: Once the HID bulb is fixed into place locate the factory connector where the original halogen bulb was connected to. You will now connect the supplied wire (may be a plug or 2 metal tips) that you must insert into your factory connector as shown below. When we say factory connector, this is the connector your original bulb was feed power with.

If you purchased a Bi-xenon kit, or a kit with relay, your installation will be a little different than above. See steps 3b or 3c.

Step 3b: If your kit included a relay you will not use the provided extra wires shown in Step 3a. that connect ballast to factory headlight plug. Instead the ballast get connected to the relay as shown below. The relay then will connect to your factory headlight plug. Some relays will have two plugs one for each side, while others only one headlight plug. Remember a relay simply gets a signal from your headlight plug, then allows power to flow directly from your battery.

Step 3c: If your kit purchased is a bi-xenon kit also known as hi/low (low beam + high beam HID with movement). This only applies to kits with bulb types 9004 9007 H4 H13 9008. Notice on these kits there will be only 1 headlight plug connector. One of your headlight connectors may not be used.

Step 4: Before mounting ballast permanently please test the system. Low beam, high beam and fog light function if it applies to your install. It is best to turn the vehicle on to test the system as some vehicles do not give full voltage when vehicle is running only from battery.

Step 5: Mount the ballasts on any existing bolt or flat surface away from excessive heat. We do not recommend mounting on top of the radiator or in front or behind it. Ballasts are electronic devices which excessive heat can ruin. Make certain the wires with your kit cannot get tangled into the belt line or are resting on very hot components of the engine.

ABOUT HID XENON CONVERSION KIT

What is HID?

HID (High Intensity Discharge) refers to lighting technology that relies on an electrical charge to ignite xenon gas contained in a sealed bulb. A normal halogen bulb uses a filament which can burn out in as little as 200 hours. HID bulbs are gas filled capsules that are rated for a lifespan of nearly 4500 hours. HID bulbs also shine much brighter due to this technology.

Unlike halogen bulbs, HID's emit a type of light that closely resembles natural daylight and is therefore easier on human eyes. In fact, HID lights are currently used in most sports arenas, stadiums, and train stations worldwide. Don't be fooled by lower end Xenon replica bulbs sold at most retail shops. They are no match for the intensity, purity, and efficiency of high intensity discharge headlights.

Bi-Xenon vs Hi/Low

Bi-xenon bulbs, are bulbs that can function as both high beam and low beam. Often times the single bulb has a motor installed within it that can shift its positions when they are switched from high to low. Most often times, retrofitting the single bulb designed vehicles with the bixenon bulbs are just as simple as replacing regular headlights with the HID headlights.

high/low HID bulbs, much like the bixenon bulbs, hi lo HID bulbs fit on headlights designed for a single bulb to act as both high beam and low beam. The high/low HID bulb actually consists of two bulbs, HID bulb for the low beam, and standard halogen bulb for the high beam, in one socket. The result is a slightly more cost efficient alternative to the bi-xenon bulbs with an equally pleasing result.

35W vs 55W

Though 55W xenon HID kits may offer brighter lighting than the 35W HID conversion kits we offer, the installation process may prove to be slightly more difficult due to the bigger bulb size. More importantly, because they require more energy than the 35 W bulbs, the 55w high intensity discharge lighting system emit more heat and possibly damaging the harness or components around the headlights area.

H4 Conversions

Sealed beam lights as found in some vehicles are headlight types that include the bulb and the casing in a single assembly. Most often times, the headlight system that use the sealed beam lights can be replaced with a casings that are designed to accompany the H4 bulb type. Once you have switched out the sealed beam lighting with the casing, you can install the HID kit.

Factory OEM HID headlights and the Xenon Conversion Kit

The HID lighting that was a standard feature for your vehicle will not work with the xenon conversion kits due to the bulb size difference and slight difference in the wiring system. Though the HID kits offered through us are designed for retrofitting your halogen bulbs with the xenon lighting, factory parts are also available that are compatible with the OEM HID headlights.

GENERAL TIPS and GUIDELINES

  • Always Start your engine before you activate your HIDs.

  • Do not turn the HIDs on and off frequently or rapidly.

  • Do not install the HID ballasts and igniters near the engine or any place where water can reach the HID components.

  • Make sure the HID connectors are tight and secured to the stock harness.
