Seller Notes: “Le 1 er juillet 1946, la liaison Paris-New York est officiellement inaugurée avec un DC-4 en moins ... “Le 1 er juillet 1946, la liaison Paris-New York est officiellement inaugurée avec un DC-4 en moins de 20 heures. * Pas moins de 82 C-54 et DC-4 ont été portés sur le registre civil français. o Air France : Le Skymaster a tenu un rôle essentiel dans la réouverture du réseau long-courrier de la compagnie nationale. 15 DC-4 et 13 Lockheed Constellation furent commandés en 1945 pour relancer son activité. Le premier DC-4 fut livré dès le 16 février 1946 à Santa Monica et dès le 23 juin la ligne de l’Atlantique Sud était ré-ouverte, un DC-4 piloté par Jean Dabry effectuant la liaison Paris-Rio en 25 heures. Le 24 juin suivant le [F-BBDJ] décollait d’Orly pour Shannon, Gander et La Guardia. Dès le 1er février 1947 le Constellation prit la relève sur l’Atlantique Nord. Après un voyage d’études en janvier 1947, un service régulier bimensuel Paris-Tunis-Le Caire-Bassorah-Karachi-Calcutta-Saigon-Shanghaï fut inauguré en avril. Il fallait 4 jours et demi pour rejoindre la Chine. Un DC-3 assurait”
