This is an original copy of the April 25th, 1865 edition of the New York Herald issued after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865. The paper focuses almost entirely on the assassination, the president's funeral train and funerary arrangements, and the nation's grief. The newspaper was originally printed on one whole sheet, folded, and would have been split down those seams, but the tops between some pages are still attached. We absolutely and without reservation guarantee this to be an original and authentic issue of the newspaper, and is not a reprint. Measures 16" x 23". In overall good condition with creasing, edge wear and some small tears, overall toning, and small scattered staining, as pictured. Free shipping in the continental US.

Shipping cost (which includes handling and insurance) for your item is a "Flat Rate" (UPS Ground for Continental U.S. orders) which is displayed in the auction listing AND at checkout.
Continental United States: Within the Continental U.S., our default shipping service is UPS Ground (3 to 7 business days), the cost determined by the Flat Rate provided. We ship to Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico, as well, via United States Postal Service (USPS); for those destinations we will contact you with a shipping quote, or you can contact us prior to ordering (or auction close) for a quote.
For large items (furniture and the like), all shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the Winning Bidder; for these items, we provide a list of recommended shippers in our item description.

Once your order has shipped, Nine Caroline Antiques will send your tracking information via email. For all shipments sent via UPS, tracking information is usually available the next business day after the package has been shipped. You may check the status of your shipment at www.ups.com or by calling 1-800-pick-ups.
We do not ship via UPS to APO or FPO addresses or P.O. Boxes. Orders placed after 12 p.m. EST will not be shipped until the next business day. We do not ship any orders on Saturday or Sunday.
Our processing hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. Orders placed Monday through Thursday before 12 p.m. EST will usually be shipped within 48 hours unless we’re really buried or Aunt Gladys wandered off from the nursing home again or something. All other orders will be shipped the next business day. We will always endeavor to ship items within 48 hours of confirmed payment received. If you absolutely need an item right away, give us a call and we’ll do our absolute best to accommodate you.

For the majority of our international customers, we ship via the US Postal Service (USPS), Express and Priority. Due to recent changes in UK postal regulations, we can only ship to UK customers via USPS Express.
PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT offer USPS First Class shipping as an option, as this method is not currently trackable. USPS shipping requires at least 10 business days for the item to arrive to you. Your package will most likely be held at Customs and inspected. After passing inspection, the package is released to your country's respective national mailing service. Historically, we have found the total time for delivery to vary, with some packages arriving within 1 week and others within 1 month.
