  ITEM DESCRIPTION

An antique 19thC Japanese Meiji period hand carved Okimono statue in the form of a travelling scribe holding scroll & pen in hand with basket over his shoulder, signed to base with ideogram mark. (c.1890)

OVERALL CONDITION

Good - We would remind bidders that this item is antique & pre-owned with associated surface wear, the top half the pen in his right hand is broken, this is a composition figure made in sections & there is signs of old glue repairs at some of the joints - good graining to the "ox bone" that has been pin tested & confirmed genuine - as shown above.
