BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE ITALIAN GOLD SILVER CARVED CORAL FRINGE NECKLACE c1800's   

A lovely antique probably southern Italian, silver gilt (solid silver with a gold wash) fringe necklace; with snap fastener, pierced floral-engraved links and set with wonderful hand carved dark orange coral orb beads in basket mounts with spike shaped drops.

A distinctive, very pretty and wonderfully wearable necklace - would make some lovely earrings too!

CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age & use. Fastener possibly an old replacement - negligible.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Early 19th century. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS: Approx. 15 inches long (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 27.8 grams.
