Fun but you need the basics.
I am a novice belly dancer and have been taking classes for about eight months which I supplement with DVD belly dance workouts. This DVD is lots of fun but you need to know some basics which are not explained on the DVD - especially holding the correct belly dance posture (slight bend in the knees, stomach in, chest up, pelvic area tucked) throughout the moves. Also, the warm-up is less than adequate. If you hold the correct posture, the DVD provides a decent belly dance workout and be sure to do some extra stretching and movement prior to the workout.I am a novice belly dancer and have been taking classes for about eight months which I supplement with DVD belly dance workouts. I love this workout video, and recommend it to other beginners.
As a fast-paced learner, I love the way that Rania teaches. I'm very new to belly dancing as part of my latest attempt at losing weight, and although it is a bit dated this video is not only a great workout for beginners, but it's fun! I am so glad that I found this video and it was available for a more than reasonable price. I will definitely be checking out more related products!

I love it.
This dvd is so fun and such a great workout. It is slower paced in terms of the undulating moves, yet you get a good sweat. As always I recommend warming up before she warms you up. As a dancer, I feel there needs to be more of a warmup with most dvds. Just take a few extra minutes to get your body limber because you are going to be using a lot of isolation with your muscles. Always use a bellydance scarf to make it more authentic. It makes it so much better☺This dvd is so fun and such a great workout. For what it's worth, this DVD is great for a low impact workout. It's actually relaxing, although you will break a sweat. I recommend having a large room to do it in as well because you won't be just standing in place. The moves are explained okay, I suppose, but it's not really beginner-friendly. I find myself stumbling over the choreography a lot. But it is fun. The music could certainly be more interesting, though.For what it's worth, this DVD is great for a low impact workout.
