<P> Purchased by myself as a Musical resale item because it was a Useable ****Note READ shipping Terms***! ITEM: C.G. Conn #36757 1897 Wonder series Valves patent dated june 15, 1886 #343888 Conn 2F New Wonder Bb Top Action tenor Horn: Note from eBay Expert: Measure your bell; I bet it is 8" across. Your horn was made in about 1906-1907 (see http://www.musictrader.com/conn.htm). As I said I have one exactly like it. It is pitched in Eb but yours looks like it has a shorter tuning slide than mine which would make it play in a higher pitch than 440. In the US these were called Alto Horns. In Great Britain they are called Tenor horns, so calling this an Eb tenor horn is correct, too.

MECHANICALLY: All 3 valves checked for action have been lubed for 100% and good working, fast action feel, . One spit valves lubed with good pad and seem too be 100% normal functioning. Slide was removed, cleaned and lubed and replaced, works well. I Cleaned with Tarn-X to remove heavy tarnish as best I could. You can continue the job or get it done professionally at your expense for 100% restoration. As you can see more tarnish could be removed, I was after the beautiful etching on the bell of this instrument . I service Brass wind instruments. I do not rebuild them, I clean and lube for fast action. There are a few slight bangs, nothing major, so such a old Brass silver plated Horn. Inside of the bell could use more rubbing, I ran out of power in the arm to finish the job. A musical instrument will NOT make you sexier, better looking, or more psychologically balanced so don't expect miracles when your buying a used instrument on Ebay from 1897, because its old, but useable! Includes, Conn Unknown mouthpiece, You need to do your homework as I do. Life's knowledge and rewards goes to those who do their HOMEWORK! Do a web search, its very hard to find this age of a Conn Horn 1897 serial #,,,,, makes it scarce! OPTICALLY: GREAT Tonality & Projection is Possible ! I play violin , not Brass insurtment , but this should be a great sounding Tenor Horn once its Played by someone who KNOWS how to play. A good player can play any three valve instrument in Brass winds, A begineer can play nothing and gets fustrated and accuses the Seller of selling a item;" Not as described"! If you are a begineer, and Rich- you need to Practice and improve; not accuse! USE: Good playing Tenor Bb Upright , very deep chested bell 8" in diameter, smooth highs in 3 valve size, for a skilled begineer player to advanced. I sold over 100 Brass instruments on ebay and serviced most all of the, serviced, ( cleaned and lubed) NOT rebuild. REPAIR, ----- I setup and repair violins for over Six year's now and personally enjoy redoing the really old VIOLIN's & carving new bridges & installing NEW German Silver Coated strings to get maximum wonderful tonal sound quality. All work was done by myself to this Conn Tenor Bb Horn Upright. Feedback UPDATE: I leave professional positive feedback only and work out any and all problems if they happen.
