SquareTrade Seal Member<P> Purchased by myself as a Optical  resale item because it was a

 Useable  & Strange results:

ITEM:

  • Weird is what you got and weird is what you get, please read! Canon EX 125mm F:3.5 lens element was made in 1969 with a leica screw 39mm thread and needs the mated EX Canon camera Body divergent element to focus to infinity. BUT,,,, Placed on a Speed Graphic Lens board and I used plain carboard to make a spacer. Then mounted to the front of my Super Speed graphic, I was able to focus this weird lens element to fill the 4x5 frame , no problem! The lens element has NO diaphram so you shoot wide open F:3.5! The results are so impressionistic, its highly desireable! I plan too use this on my military pacemaker speed Graphic thats has a back shutter naturally!
  •         You can also-----Place on a Leica screw mount bellows unit front adapter of the visoflex, or a simple 39mm THREAD TUBE; it will focus through to all  Lumix  G series or olympus E-P series   or Sony Nex 3 or 5 (adpt. LTM > nex) series digital camera Micro 4/3rd's  with a mounted m39 to m4/3 rds adapter, or LTM to m4/3 rd's. Okay why bother you say, Because this lens does something no modern lens does, it gives you a soft , glowing, spiritual weird and wild BOHKEN photo like you have never seen before. The lens has NO focus mount or F:stops, so it wide open, shallow depth of field, its Amazing results,,,,Look at these photos taken in the spring of 2008! I have sold a bunch of these lenses already on ebay and continue to sell them! They are for photographers to use and make spiritual photographs with. The photo  will be like shooting a Diana film camera. If you think photography is about sharp, crystal clear perfect, high contrast photographs, you haven't learned anything yet and you do not want to buy this lens as you will not understand it.

MECHANICALLY:  Note: There are SIX  ways to mount this lens! LTM tubes, LTM Leica Coomi helicoil focusing tube, Leica bellows unit, Leica visoflex housing, OR to a Leica or Canon LTM (39mm)  thread mount cameras ( Rangefinders).

The lens comes in Mint minus condition with a case  and its Very beautiful workmanship  in  black aluminium metal. Canon EX 125mm screws into LTM  39mm LTM bellows unit front or LTM tubes,( see Photos) or  screw to screw  adapter on leica Visoflex l or bellows unit, then to Lumix G1, G2, GH1, GLF, or Olympus  E-P series ;  L/M Micro 4/3rds, or LTM to m4/3rd, also now Sony NEX DSLR cameras 3 & 5 models with a (LTM > NEX) . Thats it,,,,, easy Focus on Leica helicoil COOMI with 40mm LTM tubes! Ps. you dont need a visoflex unit, I just happen to have had one around.  A cheap set of LTM tubes does the trick of focus also!

Exposure is determined by your cameras TTL meter in manual mode and its dead on accurate. If you do not have a TTL Leica screw or M mount camera or other manufacters in L/M or screw LTM, exposure will be very diffuluct, the hook-up requires a TTL metered Camera. Focusing Range = Infinity to 3"@ 125mmF:3.5. That is one heck of a range. I highly suggest a tripod for this setup when choosing the bellows unit method. carry the outfit by hand around the tube area only.

Does it work; yes, and it's  really worth it for smart photographers. I lightened one of my  orginial design's by removing the prism and placing a plastic lens cap over it of 55mm. This stops any stray light from getting in the visoflex housing.

OPTICALLY:  Strange and really wonderful Wild BOKEN, from infinity Focus to extreme macro is possible. On a Lumix G1,G2, GH1,GH2,GLF using the EVF in "No lens mode", in M mode, at 5x focus assist it is highly accurate focus. Remember this is not a rangefinder , there are no focusing parallax problems with a system setup like this.  It's a DSLR using a EVF instead of a mirror optical system. Is it better, Yes, yes, yes! Why? No matter how dark or what F:stop your lens in your EVF will automatically compensate the brightness, even at nightime!  Then Adjust shutter manually to - o +  point and shoot. Image is stored at 12.6 Meg and you are in for a shock, you will love it,,,,, THE Last  flower shot is an example of what the unique characterteristics of the lens BOhKEN can do?

What makes a Photo great is not sharpness, its Surrealism. old master  Oil painter's sold this reality to the  world in the last 250 years. That is  why the Diana F is a hot selling camera, it has a terrible lens, so surreal! This is why taking photos through the brillant viewfinder of a kodak duraflex lll is so weird and wonderful.  Surrealism wins!

USE:  For the real pro photog who has skills, all Speed Graphic Back shutter cameras, M mount and screw mount 39mm Leica LTM cameras can be used, all ever made(Leica, Canon, Nicca, Kiev,Minolta, Leotax, reid, Honor Tanack, Yashica YF etc.). Most old lenses all are so sharp it blows my mind(Resolution) , however this lens is so strange its wonderful.

***** NOTE ****** Canon Case, Canon 125mm EX F:3.5 lens With Canon Deep 39mm LTM back Cap is the ONLY item's being sold. Nothing else,,,,,,,,  Please READ*****

Everything else you need can be bought on Ebay and I will help you.

So far i have tested 47 Leica type 39mm LTM lenses on the Lumix G1 with the L/M 4/3rd adapter.  I like the Summilux 50mm F:1.4 old chrome and the especially the Summircon 40mm-C  F:2 the best. LTM Canon 50mm F:1.4 black lens is  wonderful also. Nikkor-S in 5cm F:1.4 LTM is an amazing lens from 1953,  Leica summircon 90mm F:2 is a great lens also, BUT heavy! All these LTM lenses and M lenses or yesteryear reach there maximum potential on a lumix G-1 in 5x manual focus mode, because you focus in ultra high precesion!

I have been known to rebuild shutters of Copal design and work on Canon m39 lenses. In 35mm , it has too be econmically fesible before I will rebuild these days as many 35mm cameras are not practible to repair as they sell for little money on Ebay.
