Vehicle History Report Not Available
1969 Chevrolet Camaro
Possible Explanations why the report is not available include:
  • The seller didn't enter the vehicle identification number correctly.
  • The vehicle is too new to have a history report.
  • The vehicle was manufactured prior to 1981.
  • The vehicle didn't have a 17-digit vehicle identification number.
  • The vehicle wasn't intended for the North American market (such as limited production exotics).

Engine: 350 Vehicle Title: Clear

I have a 69 Camaro RS/SS project for sale. I purchased the car from the original owner and it is the real deal, but since it is an American car and the original drivetrain was long gone, I obviously can't prove it. It is a Butternut Yellow X11 car with black vinyl top and came with a black standard interior. The car was last licensed in New York State in 1973, and has been parked ever since. The body is extremely solid, but both rear quarters and the rear tail panel had collision damage. I have restored the body shell with a combination of new metal and a California donor car. The roof was rusted along the drip rails. I replaced the roof panel, rear tail panel, and upper cowl panel, as well as the upper dash. I left the quarter panels as I didn't want Taiwan tin on it, but it would take a very good body man to finish straightening them, or you may want to just replace them. I have a cowl hood and front fenders that are aftermarket. The body and all the panels have been soda blasted and are in epoxy primer. The body is currently on a body shop cart for access to finish. I offered the car for sale once before without a drivetrain, and had quite a bit of interest. but I have since tracked down an engine and trans. I have a correct date coded 350 4 bolt engine, casting code 3970010, but it has the wrong heads on it for this application. I've got a correct date coded intake manifold but haven't found a carb yet. I have a correct date coded Muncie 4 speed, complete with shifter, bell housing, flywheel, clutch, crossmember, and driveshaft. I have a 12 bolt posi rear end with multi leaf springs still attached, but the housing has not been cleaned and refinished yet. I have a California subframe which has been freshly powder coated. I have a complete new interior and have already installed the covers and new cushions on the seats (I switched to deluxe black houndstooth). Kit includes deluxe door panels, headliner, carpet, dash pad, pillar mouldings, package tray, console, and sill plates. I have a brand new tilt steering column, and almost complete new wiring, only harness I haven't purchased I believe is the engine harness as I wasn't sure at the time if I was going big or small block. Also have a new black 4 speed centre console. I have an entire RS front end for the car, including NOS grille and chrome moulding. I have an NOS rear spoiler. Refurbished instrument panel. I bought a tach, but don't have the speedo or the console gauge pod yet. I have a new steering wheel, including shroud and horn buttons. I have original tinted side glass. I have over $10000 in small parts, all the stuff that would nickel and dime you to death when trying to finish the car, such as door handles, lights, mirrors, antenna, hardware, brackets, wiring, trim, refinished original GM RS inner fenders, original RS tail lamp buckets and new RS tail lamps and backup lamps, stainless brake lines, date and code correct distributor, alternator, etc, a ridiculously long list of items that I can send you if you're interested. Main things I haven't yet purchased yet are exhaust, front and rear glass, seat belts, console gauge pod. I have a set of original Chev rally's, (need refinished), but haven't bought tires yet as I didn't want them being 5 years old by the time the car was done. Realistically, you're looking at another $15000 to finish this car, but if done correctly it should easily appraise between $55-60k. I have around $32k in it now, plus a ridiculous amount of time and gas gathering up parts for the last several years, and yes I realize I spent more than I should, no need to point that out :), but I wanted a basically new car when I was done. However, my situation has changed, and I know I won't be able to continue with it for at least several more years, and I'd rather see someone else do it than have it just sit. I can't get any better pics until I can clean out my garage. Email, or call 519-495-7657 Car is located in Mount Brydges, about 15 minutes west of London, Ont

Please bear in mind what it costs to build one of these cars. Yes, you could buy a new Dynacorn body, but you'll spend $15000, probably have to rework the quarters to make them fit properly, and you'll still have a fake car with no ownership, and still have to buy all the stuff I already have.
I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time as the car is listed locally as well.
I will also consider turn key trades for '77-'78 Trans Am, C3 Corvette, '68-'70 Charger, Super Bee, Roadrunner, '67-'70 Chevelle - must be of equal value or be willing to pay cash difference.

Not to spew too many facts, those of you that are seriously looking likely already know what you need to know, but the colour of this car is somewhat rare. '67 and '68 Camaros were Butternut, but less than 1% of '69's were produced in Butternut before switching to the more common Daytona Yellow for the remainder of the model year.
