Excellent device for anyone with a very long driveway.
Works perfectly, even with the receiver being several hundred feet away from the transmitter. The only drawback is the birdhouse protector. This is the second one I've purchased and it always arrives with one of the sides warped. Not a major problem in the long run, just an annoyance in fitting it together. I strongly recommend stuffing as many silica gel packets inside the black motion sensor box to absorb the usual moisture that will accumulate.Works perfectly, even with the receiver being several hundred feet away from the transmitter. I have five MURS IR Sensors plus two base stations plus four hand held transceivers from Dakota Alert. One or the other of the 5 MURS IR Sensors fails on average every 2 to 4 months. I replaced (fixed) eleven of them within the last four years! The Sensors are not worth the money - too many failures, wrong alerts, no alerts or just constant alerts based on no reason. Cheap electronics and lousily sealed cases that trap too much moisture. These Dakota IR Sensors can not handle heat either (80°F and up for an afternoon) or any longer rain or moisture. Either the antenna leaks or - as just now the last one I bought September 13 2016- just quit working AT ALL. Of course I have warranty but I am tired of sending them back and forth - probably for the rest of my life, I fear. I will look ... Giving them a last chance to come up with a good idea - if not, all Sensors go in a big box to Dakota Inc and I will not rest to leave reviews about these product until I am done on any sellers page... People have the right to know the truth. (p.S. Look the review dated Aug 26 13 - he was even less lucky - it worked only five days for him . what a nightmare .... Beware of this products and good luck looking for something that works.

Woman's voice cannot be heard if there is any noises are in the office area. Woman's voice sounds like she needs a doctor badly - very poorly done compared to the original MURS Alerts that use a MAN's voice. Works when it's not raining.
Works as advertised unless it rains. lens cannot be facing into rain. A few drops renders the unit inop. Starts working again when lens is dry. Tried covering with clear plastic which suffers the same issue with becoming wet.

Works as Advertised
The package arrived early & as promised. I mounted it inside the front driveway entrance, to alert us on the MURS channel we use around the farm, when anyone comes through there. This is mostly deliveries, but who knows? It has worked as expected and we are pleased with the situational awareness it enhances.
