Delta Airlines Lockheed L1011 Aircraft Flight Manual

Sophisticated, complex, a dream to engineers (and a terror to maintenance crews), the Lockheed L1011 is now nearly gone from the skies.  But Lockheed's ahead-of-the-times thinking lives on in this detailed flight manual covering aircraft systems, operation, and procedures.

The L1011 packed a host of cutting-edge technology in one airplane: direct lift control, load alleviation, quad-redundant hydraulics, sophisticated autoland.  Perhaps it was too much, perhaps it was the politics of, perhaps it was the encroachment of the twin-jet revolution just a decade later, but the L1011 would end up a business failure.  But in the minds of pilots and enthusiasts, it remains one of the great airliners of all time.
