Finest Known? 1954 $1000 Devils Face Bank of Canada PCGS CHUNC63 Massive Rarity

Some of you have waited what must seem like a lifetime to track down a true UNC 1954 $1000 Devils Face note and some of you may be oblivious to the massive condition rarity that this note represents. I have numerous want lists with this note on it in UNC. Your price guide won't be of any help here as it has badly neglected the valuation for this great mainstream rarity and the actual price this note will trade at will have no resemblance to Charlton published value.  There are no other known certified $1000 Devils face notes to be graded UNC60 or better by PCGS and there is one 64 Non EPQ (absence of EPQ on an UNC note usually means its pressed, holed or stained) in a PMG holder and there was/is a supposed UNC62 that was holdered by a banknote dealer who also runs his own certification service, that note cannot be taken seriously until removed from the soft-sleeve-like holder it was in (which does little to prevent condition degradation inside it) and resubmitted to PCGS or PMG, the results of such a submission would be unclear.

The sale price of this note will be reported to Charlton Chief Editor in an effort to ensure the guide reflects market reality. There are a pile of UNC 1935 (14 UNC60 and better certified by PMG alone) and 1937 $1000's (25 UNC60 and better by PMG alone) so a valuation of $40K-$50K on an exponentially more rare CH UNC Devils Face $1000 is defensible on one of the most widely collected series of Canadian notes, if not the most collected.

This unpressed 63 is beyond suspicion that would cross over as a PMG 63 EPQ or just as likely as a 64 EPQ, although I would just leave it in the PCGS holder ensuring as little handling as possible on this one - due to the importance of the note. The centering is consistent with a proper to good 64. The light printers ink dust seen on the top corners is an original natural attribute.
