~*GORGEOUS 30s DECO PURPLE SILK VELVET DRESS w/JEWELS-LG

Absolutely FABULOUS purple silk velvet dress from the 30s with incredible jeweled Art Deco circles on the sleeves....LOVE THAT!!

The bodice has great drape to the velvet with folded collar that the neckline that comes down into a modest 'V' that has a glittering paste clip sewn into the center-nice smocked detail through the center of the bust, bracelet length puffed sleeves and beautiful swingy skirt with nice seam detail through the center. I love the way the back of the bodice is cut on an angle with little slit for showing a little peek of skin-just a gorgeous dress!!!!

This beauty has the 'Dress Design Copyrighted in 1934' and it has a matching sash at the waist. It closes at the side with snaps, with measurements as follows: 40 in. bust, 32 in. waist, 42 in. hips, 17 in. from top of the shoulder to waist, 28 in. from waist to hem with 23 in. sleeves, and 16 in. shoulder to shoulder.

Condition...very wearable, and absolutely GORGEOUS, but there have been some really sloppy alterations done, **most of which can only seen on the inside**. The bodice was shortened, and there is some hand-stitching along the cross-over opening in the back, and where the collar attaches to the back neckline-shown, but unseen when worn. The paste clip is not original, but it's fabulous-so you get a nice bonus there, in the center of the bust is a ruched bar, and over it is a strange piece of velvet...it doesn't appear to be covering up any damage, and it would be very easy to remove-but it's in the photos, so I'll let you decide what you whether you want it or not. There is one small hole by the closure, and when they shortened the bodice it must have hidden the label because you can see where it once was on the waist seam, but it is now in the upper back. I few rhinestones are missing, and one half of a circle is gone. All this is shown, and as I said most all of the issues are only seen on the inside, but I like to be thorough. VERY WEARABLE!!!! The back opening could be refined, a few stitches in the hole and you are set-as you can see, it is absolutely stunning!!!
