In November of 1900, Brazil was in the midst of a period of great expectations and transformations. It was during this particularly promising moment in Brazil’s history that the renowned Italian luthier Tranquillo Giannini decided to pursue his dream: to set up a workshop to build acoustic instruments in Brazil, a country that he greatly loved.
His dream proved a success, and in a short time the small workshop bearing his family name grew such that, already in the 1930’s, the company began to manufacture strings in order to meet the growing demand, as well as to be able to maintain the already famous quality of his beloved instruments.

To this day, Giannini continues to practice the lessons of the company’s founder.
These fundamental standards are preserved in the fact that Giannini’s current methods of production bring together the time-honored techniques of Tranquillo’s craftsmanship with the most efficient and modern methods of industrial technology.
This is the philosophy that continues to guide Giannini in the 21st century. Our products pass through a strict process of quality control, and they leave the factory fully imbued with the reliability, craftsmanship, and ultimate care that have been the hallmark of the Giannini name since 1900.
