Amazing North Carolina Estate find

 

US Navy Department - Bureau of Ships

Lauson Company Gasoline Engine Generator Set 

Radio Corporation Of America

 

Once in a lifetime chance to purchase an unused

military antique that is 70+ years old 

 

In NEW - Original Condition

 

This unit has not been restored or cleaned it is as found

After research I believe this unit to be

Manufactured between 1949 - 1950

 

 LMC  style engine Counter Clockwise rotation

Shielded Ignition with Aluminum block

 

Amazingly this Lauson Gen Set was found in the Original military storage box locally In North Carolina & after close inspection it became obvious that this unit has never had fuel in it & has never been started, have found that this amazing unit is complete & in UNUSED condition.

 

These were used by the US Navy to power Radar Units

 and / or power & charge radios in the field

 

US Navy Anchor stamp is clearly visable on both ID tags (see images)

 

The fuel tank 'smells' as new, shine a light inside & you can see a very light coating of rust inhibiting lube that would have been used at time of manufacture to prevent the tanks from corrosion before use.

 

All paint / markings are original with absolutely

no touchups, no dents rust or corrosion.

 

AMAZING CONDITION has obviously been kept

in this original carrier since manufactured

 It is how I found it, I have not cleaned anything. 

 

 13.3 V DC 400 watt 30 Amp Gasoline Engine Generator set

Power head has a low serial number of 939

Lauson Engine has serial # 7-58611

 

Manufactured by a joint effort between The Lauson Company &  Radio Corporation of America

exclusively for US Navy Department - Bureau of Ships

I encourage bidders to contact me with questions or knowledge about this unit as it is VERY RARE from what I understand.

 

Includes only what is pictured, the Generator unit & the carrying case

 

Carry case in very good condition except for small bend on corner of lid that doesn't affect the fit of the lid (see images) & the handle is missing from the carry case.

 

I wanted to fuel & run this piece of WW2 history but since I am 99.9%

sure that this unit is NEW, never been fueled or ran that I will not

be the first to run this amazing find, that choice is up to the new owner.
