This key blank is unprogrammed....it will NOT crank your vehicle until it is cut to match your key and electronically programmed to your vehicle's computer

Merchandise Description

This ebay auction is for ten (10) Strattec brand PATS/electronic key blank with Ford logo...just as pictured.

This key blank is unprogrammed and must be programmed AT THE VEHICLE before it will crank the vehicle.

You can program the key yourself IF YOU HAVE TWO EXISTING KEYS OF THIS SAME TYPE/SHAPE which are already programmed to crank the vehicle....otherwise you will have to hire an automotive locksmith or Ford dealer to program the key with special equipment which is connected to the vehicle.

Cloned keys (sometimes sold at hardware stores) usually will not work for programming this original style key. Cloned keys usually have an even bigger head with a battery inside...part numbers on a cloned key may include the letters ''RW'' or ''EK'' or ''PHT''.

If you have questions, please ask BEFORE buying....include the exact year, make, and model.

Extra Services & PATS 2 Programming

If you are reading this before you buy and want to avoid a miscut key, I may be able to cut your key using a high resolution image of your key...extra charge of 2.00 per key...guaranteed to fit if I approve the image.

Below is the on-board programming procedure for the PATS 2 system. Remember...it only works if you have two already working keys of this same type/shape...and this new key does not count as one of the two working keys. I do not know of any way around the two key rule.

Add Duplicate Key (Requires two working keys):
1. Insert an existing key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and back to OFF.
3. Remove the existing key and, within five seconds, insert
a second key and turn it to ON (RUN) then back OFF.
4. Insert the new key before ten seconds have elapsed and
turn it to ON (RUN). Leave it on for one second and turn
back to OFF
5. The security light will light up for three seconds to
indicate that the new key has been successfully
programmed.
