The "Buy It Now" option is only available if no bids have been placed.

If this item fails to function or perform properly within 30 days of purchase you may return it to me in similar cosmetic condition as purchased for repair, replacement or refund. Malfunctions or failure caused by water damage, impacts, drops or any other intentional or accidental user abuse is not covered. Shipping costs for warranty returns are the responsibility of the buyer.
Offered for auction or "Buy It Now" is this freshly serviced Nikon AiS 100mm f/2.8 Series E manual focus lens in beautiful near mint condition, complete with front and rear caps and a high quality reprint of the instruction manual. A real "sleeper" in the Series E line, the 100mm f/2.8 is a highly underrated lens that many experienced photographers feel produces images on par with the much more famous Nikkor 105mm f/2.5. Lightweight and compact, it's a perfect portrait lens for 35mm film and FX format digital bodies, or you can use it as a fast medium telephoto for compatible DX format digital bodies. This is the later improved Mk.II "chrome ring" version with the aluminum grip ring, AiS Nikkor cosmetics with rubber focusing grip, and a slightly more durable construction than the original Mk.I model. Made in Japan, s/n 1995016.
This lens is in near mint cosmetic, optical and mechanical condition. Why "near mint"? Unlike a lot of eBay sellers I don't use the "mint" label casually, and true perfection (mint) seldom exists for used items. Nevertheless, this should easily rate as a high EX+ using the conservative KEH condition scale. But since grading for aesthetics is very subjective, please check the photos and decide for yourself. Under close examination (I use a magnifying lamp) I see just a few very tiny nicks to the paint finish on the leading sharp corner of the focusing ring. Glass is very clean* with no haze, fungus or separation. Beautiful unmarked lens coatings front and back. Aperture blades are fast and dry, and the aperture ring click stops are smooth and crisp, just like new. A full CLA service was completed on this lens prior to listing it for sale to renew the helicoid grease (the original 25 year old grease was a bit stiff) so the focus is buttery smooth with perfect like-new damping. The F-mount shows no wear and the filter threads are perfect. An increasingly rare find in this condition, since these were discontinued in 1985 and only about 80,000 units of the "chrome ring" version of the 100mm lens were made (as a comparison from the same era, over 2 million Series E 50mm lenses were built).
*A word about dust in lenses. ALL lenses will have a few tiny scattered dust particles between the internal element groups. If you are obsessive compulsive about internal lens dust, please read the following for a "reality check": The truth about dust in camera lenses!
The Nikon AiS 100mm f/2.8 Series E lens is fully compatible with all Nikon manual focus film cameras, from the original Nikon F of 1959 to the final one off the production line in 2006, the FM3A (stopdown metering on the F, F2S, F2SB and pre-AI Nikkormat bodies). This lens is also compatible with aperture priority and manual exposure modes on the following Nikon autofocus film and digital SLR cameras (manual focus only of course): N2020/F-501, N6006/F-601, N8008/F-801, N8008s/F-801s, N70, N90/F90, N90s/F90x, F100, F4, F5, F6, D1 series, D2 series, D3 series, D4, D200, D300(s), D700, D800 and D7000. Please see this chart for full details of digital SLR compatibility.
It will also mount and "work" on the D40, D40x, D50, D60, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D3000, D3100, D5000 and D5100, however this is a non-CPU lens (please read your camera instruction manual or see this chart if you don't know what that means) so there is no in-camera light metering or TTL flash metering, and manual exposure mode only is possible when used with these cameras. Unless you have experience with externally metered or histogram-assisted manual exposure methods, this lens is probably not a good match for your photography when using these cameras.
If you are uncertain if this lens is suitable for your camera, please ask questions before bidding. I have extensive knowledge of the Nikon system and will be happy to assist.

General Terms and Conditions
New eBay buyers are welcome (we all started with "0" feedback) but please make sure that you understand the terms of this auction. If you are the high bidder when the auction closes or if you "Buy It Now", you are obligated to purchase the item and pay for it promptly.
International buyers are also welcome but I normally do not ship to locations that are in the "Excludes" list found under the Shipping and payments tab (click on the "See exclusions" link above right). If your location is excluded but you would like to bid, please contact me and ask for an individual buyer exemption, otherwise eBay will automatically block your bid. Please note that postage to overseas locations can be very expensive and for some international destinations I will only ship via a fully insured on-line trackable service (i.e. EMS Express Airmail)
By placing a bid or purchasing this item with "Buy It Now" you are acknowledging an obligation to complete the transaction and pay for the item if you are the high bidder at the end of the auction.
Auction and payment currency is in $USD.
Payment is due in full within FOUR (4) calendar days of the auction ending date. I will send an eBay invoice with your payment total including shipping cost at the end of the auction. I do not send annoying payment reminders and I do not hassle buyers for payment. I do use eBay's Unpaid Item Assistant to automatically claim a refund of eBay seller fees for all unpaid items, so if you are not able to pay in a timely manner it is important that you contact me to let me know your payment intentions, otherwise…
USA and Canadian buyers may checkout and pay immediately using the [Pay Now] button at the top of this page after the listing ends. Or you can wait for my invoice which will contain all the necessary payment information. International buyers please wait for my invoice before you checkout to pay. If you do not receive an invoice email from eBay please check your email junk or spam folder and also verify that the email address on file with your eBay account is still a valid and current address.
The following payment options are available:
PayPal - secure online payment by credit card, eCheck, or funded from an existing PayPal balance or bank account. You may link to a secure checkout and payment page after the auction ends by clicking on the [Pay Now] button at the top of this listing or in your winning bidder email from eBay. Buyers paying by PayPal eCheck please note that your item will not be shipped until after the eCheck clears from your bank to my PayPal account. eChecks usually take 8-10 days to clear.
INTERAC E-Transfer (formerly Certapay) - available to Canadian eBay.ca registered buyers only. Minimum purchase (including shipping) is $10.00 CAD. If you bank on-line, I accept "Email Money Transfer" electronic bank to bank payments ($CAD) from TD Canada Trust, BMO Bank of Montreal, CIBC, RBC Royal Bank and Scotiabank customers. This is a secure way to send payments online, and I do not see any of your confidential banking information. For items that sell for US$25 total or more I will pay the bank service fee ($1.50CAD). Please contact me at the end of the auction via eBay Messages if you wish to use this payment service, as we will need to agree on a confidential security question.
If you can not pay by one of the above methods but would still like to purchase this item, you are welcome to contact me using the "Ask a question" link to offer your preferred payment alternative, but please do so before bidding. I will try to accommodate your request, but acceptance of any payment method other than the above is solely at my discretion.
Your purchase will be shipped via one of the Canada Post services listed below and delivered to you by your local postal service. Delivery times shown are estimates, not guaranteed delivery times. - Xpresspost: On-line tracking, fully insured, delivery in 2 to 4 business days.

If you do not reside in the UK, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand or Japan please contact me before bidding to confirm if this economy parcel service is available to your location.
- Xpresspost International (EMS Airmail): Full enroute on-line tracking, fully insured, 6 to 10 business days to most international destinations.
Shipping rates for this item are listed in the table below. If possible I will combine shipping at reduced rates for multiple purchases, so if you have won more than one auction, please wait for my invoice or contact me for a revised shipping rate before paying. Shipping rates are in $USD and include the cost of postage, insurance fees, packaging materials (new boxes and bubble wrap are not free) and any other incidental small handling costs. If I am able to recycle packaging, I have lowered the costs shown below to reflect that saving. I do not make money on shipping. You pay what it costs me to safely ship your item.
International and USA shipments - a telephone number is required for the customs documentation. If your phone number is not included in the payment info I receive from eBay/PayPal, there may be a delay in shipping while I contact you and wait for the required information.
All Expedited Parcel and Xpresspost shipments are fully insured at a cost of $2.00 per $100CAD (included in the rates shown above).
Small Packet Airmail is the least expensive overseas air shipping option available, but be advised that the claims process for lost packages is very slow. Canada Post will not investigate a non-delivery claim for a Small Packet Airmail shipment until 45 calendar days have elapsed from the date of shipment.
Insured and trackable air parcel shipments from Canada (Xpresspost EMS Airmail) to overseas destinations are obscenely expensive. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing that I can do about that. It costs you what it costs me. With the $USD -> $CAD sell rate near par, the current minimum Canada Post EMS Airmail rate to Europe for a small 16x16x16cm / 500g package is well over $60USD!
Your item will be securely packaged, clearly labeled, and shipped promptly upon receipt and clearance of your payment, usually the next business day.
Taxes, Duty and Customs
The buyer is responsible for any and all taxes, duties, tariffs or any other customs clearance fees that may be charged by customs authorities in the country of destination. For insurance and legal reasons I will not falsify customs documents. All items will be declared as "Merchandise" at their full purchase value.
USA buyers please note that generally there is no customs duty on items shipped from Canada to the USA. Some states may require payment of sales or use tax. Please contact your local state authorities or US Customs office if you have questions about importing from Canada.
Limit of Responsibility - I will not assume responsibility or liability if a shipment is returned or seized by customs authorities in the country of destination because the articles are prohibited from import in that country, or special mailing/import requirements were not met. The buyer is responsible for ensuring that the item purchased may be legally imported. I will refund your purchase price only if the prohibited shipment is returned to me by customs authorities. Shipping and handling charges will not be refunded.
Bid with confidence. I value your business and want you to be a satisfied buyer. I offer a 14 day inspection period on all items except those specifically sold "As Is - No Returns". If there is a problem with your item please contact me via the eBay Message system so that we may resolve the issue to your satisfaction. I treat my customers with courtesy and respect and I expect the same in return from you, so please be polite and calm in your communications if there is a problem. Unless a specific warranty is offered in the listing text above, no other warranty is expressed or implied.
All items are guaranteed to be as described in the listing text or your payment will be promptly refunded upon safe return of the item. No partial refunds. I will not negotiate "defect discounts" after the sale. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase I will refund your payment without prejudice, but you must return the item. Shipping and handling costs are not refundable unless the item arrives damaged, DOA or has been misrepresented. My descriptions are accurate to the best of my knowledge and I disclose any flaws that I find with the items offered.
Should a return be necessary you must contact me for return shipping instructions before sending the item back. Simple but very specific steps must be followed for all international and USA returns to ensure a smooth clearance through Canadian Customs (CBSA). All USA and International returns must be shipped by postal mail. Under no circumstances will returns via UPS, FedEx, DHL or any other carrier be accepted. Any item returned via a shipper other than postal mail may be refused and returned at the sender's expense. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
In the unlikely event that you have a problem with your purchase, please contact me before posting feedback so that we may resolve the situation to your satisfaction. Most problems can be resolved in a friendly manner if there is open and polite communication between buyer and seller. I am certainly not perfect and I will inevitably make mistakes, but if I don't know about it I can't do anything to fix it.
Detailed Seller Rating Stars - I do my very best to provide 5-star customer service to all of my buyers. I encourage honest feedback but please be fair and rate my performance, not something that is entirely beyond my control. When you rate "Shipping time" you are supposed to rate "How quickly did the seller ship the item?". That's how quickly I shipped your item after you paid for it, not how long it took for it to be delivered to you by the postal system. Similarly, please consider what my actual shipping costs were when you rate "Shipping and handling charges". My shipping rates are always included in the item description so that you will know exactly what you will pay before you bid. I don't set postal rates, insured international shipping is very expensive, and I always pack in a manner to reduce your costs to an absolute minimum while still providing safe and secure packaging. If you don't think the shipping fees were fair (that's approximately equal to the actual costs for postage and packing materials) then please contact me before leaving feedback and I will provide documentation showing what my exact costs were to ship your item.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
