Thread count - Thread count is simply the number of threads per square inch of fabric. These consist of vertical threads (warp) and horizontal threads (weft) woven together. Thread count is one metric that should be looked at when considering cotton bedlinen. At Deals Down Under, frankly, we don't even think it's the most important one. Please be careful of some loopholes behind the high thread count story.
Loophole #1 - The area size of the fabric in which the thread count is claimed can vary. For example, the number of threads in one square inch (a 2.54cm square) would be significantly less than the number of thread in a 10 square centimeters (a 3.162cm square).
