Wonderful case length gauge
Quit wondering If your reloads are good quality. This easy to use gauge will tell you what you have in seconds. Takes the guess work out of your reloads. Great tool. I now check every reload and have no more problems with jamming.

Not for an AR type reload
Bought this to insure the brass I was reloading for a 300AAC Blackout would be uniform. Unfortunately, the old saying "looks good on pager". Here is the problem, the chamber on most AR style Bolckouts is no uniform. With that in mind a tolerance in measurements of 100th of an inch will result in a round not cambering. This could be a potential hazardous problem, with a round firing that has not been fully chambered. The only sure way is to use a micrometer, painfully slow, but much safer. Again I can only speak for the AR type rifle. . Bought this to insure the brass I was reloading for a 300AAC Blackout would be uniform. Unfortunately, the old saying "looks good on pager". Gauge is tighter than SAAMI Spec
I formed 300 AAC cases with a Lee die which are acceptable with this gauge. They do not fit in my new rifle which is to a minimum headspace. I bought Federal ammo which fits my rifle fine but fails the gauge. I bought SB forming dies to correct the problem with the Lee dies and they produce brass like the federal which runs fine but fails this gauge. Lyman notes a disclaimer that case that are .010 - .020 under in the neck to base may still be used. This is because this gauge is actually not to the true SAAMI limits.
