Superb VICTORIAN Solid Silver CREAM MILK JUG Hallmarked 1897 Sterling NR

Gorgeous Design - 3 troy oz. - John Millward Banks

This is a really lovely VICTORIAN solid sterling silver milk jug or cream jug which was made in Birmingham, England in 1897 by the illustrious Victorian silversmith, John Millward Banks at his Northampton Street workshops. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality jug is in super condition. This wonderful jug has a gorgeous half reeded shape and finished with a loop handle and a decorated edge. The jug measures 2 1/2" wide, 4 1/8" across from handle to lip and stands 3 1/2" tall. It is rather substantial - it weighs 84.2 grams - almost 2 3/4 troy oz. It is NOT engraved.

The jug is in very good condition with less than the usual light surface scratching and few dings but NO dents and NO repairs - SUPERB. It is hallmarked J.M.B, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), x, anchor showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A rare VICTORIAN jug after 115 years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and NO RESERVE. Postage will be 4.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations.

First class post usually adds 50% to the quoted postage cost while airmail is typically double the cost of surface mail. I accept payment by cheque in UK Sterling (GBP). I can also accept payment by Paypal (in any Paypal currency but preferably Sterling).
