About My Grading system:

I have been collecting records for 30 years and take this seriously, especially on Ebay where record grading is often unsatisfactory.    If there are marks or imperfections I list them.  Mint records are new, unplayed.  Near Mint records must be top-notch to receive that grade, with no scratches or marks on the vinyl.  My VG++  (EX) records are essentially clean and free of defects besides perhaps come slight sleeve marks, or 1 or 2 small marks that prevent the LP from being truly NM.

Some higher end LP’s are Play-graded on a VPI Scout w/ Grado Statement Sonata cartridge.  If an LP looks unplayed and dead Near Mint,  I don’t play grade.  However if an LP is between NM and VG+, I often will clean it on a VPI 16.5 using a combination of Disc Doctor fluids and Super Vinyl Wash.  I then play-grade it to be sure of condition.  Play graded LP’s will be noted in description.

A general note about grading LP’s:

I use the standard grading as defined by GOLDMINE.  But have added (EX+/-)  because I feel there is a big difference between NM and VG+.  It appears as follows on their website (with my additions).

Mint (M)   Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed (SS).

Near Mint (NM-)   A nearly perfect record. Many dealers won't give a grade higher than this implying (perhaps correctly)that no record is ever truly perfect.

The record should show no obvious signs of wear.

Basically, an LP in near mint condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap.

Excellent (EX+/-)

Some light paper scuffs and perhaps 1 or 2 minimal small light scratches.  In general, if not for a couple things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find an EX+ or EX record highly acceptable.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.

Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK".

Very Good (VG)

Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

I only sell records that are graded VG and below if they are extremely rare.

I package professionally, and ship items promptly.  Items are sent out within 1 to 2 days after payment is received.  Please take a minute to look at the post mark before you complain about shipping time.  International orders can get delayed in customs, so please keep this in mind when leaving feedback.

I ship records in professional LP packaging supplied from Sleeve city.  All LP's are placed outside of jackets and inside plastic mylar outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting.  I do not make money on shipping and "Handling" charges.

Multiple purchases can be combined for shipping.  Please contact me if you are bidding on multiple items and wish to wait before shipment.  I will hold your order until you are ready.

Shipping: USA via media mail with delivery confirmation: 1-2 LP's = $4.00,  3 LPs = $5.00, more based on weight of package.
Canada via first-class international: 1 LP = $9.00; 2 LPs = $10.75; 3 LPs = $12.25

ATTENTION FOREIGN BIDDERS!!!!    Please Wait for Invoice before paying for shipping!
