I have been designing and refurbishing old iron amps with one of the pioneers of fine audio design. This collaboration continues to be very rewarding.

This amplifier has exceeded my expectations, truly surprising me with its beautiful soundstage. It has brought music to life in my lab with a warm clarity that fills the room and gives each individual instrument an exact location inside the stereo acoustic soundscape. You will be impressed by the detailed sweetness this small, unpretentious amplifier can deliver.

The original amplifier was built on a 40 year old iron chassis, and I decided that an old iron vacuum tube amplifier like this was worthy of a complete re-design. What Is offered to you is a fully up-to-date amplifier.

The energy storage in the power supply has been increased by almost ten-fold, increasing the open loop gain, decreasing the distortion and modifying the bias scheme such that crossover distortion (common to many fixed-bias circuits) has been reduced to the vanishing point.
Historically, most of the amplifiers on this planet have been built with a simple auto-bias scheme.

Technically it’s called fixed bias, and has proven to be a reliable and excellent way of biasing low output amplifiers. Its Achilles heel however, is that under heavy drive conditions, the distortion climbs rapidly.

To minimize this problem, manufacturers have almost always operated the output tubes right up against the wall of their maximum rated dissipation. And often over their maximum rating.

This amp comes with vintage NOS 7868 output tubes. The tubes are all tested as new. The front end tubes are vintage 12AX7's and the output stage is comprised of four 7868's BRIMAR (EL506) two per channel, and a 5AR4 rectifier tube. There are years left on these tubes.

I have painted and polished the chassis with a color scheme that showcases and highlights this amp.

It does not come with a bottom cover, and looks just fine without one.

It is plug and play right out of the box. Power output is 30 watts per channel @ 8 OHMS .

This amplifier comes with a 90 day warranty.
