Matisyahu Tickets – A Spiritual Musical Journey

Matisyahu is the Hebrew name of Pennsylvania-born Matthew Miller. Although he was raised in a liberal Reconstructionist Jewish household and was a jam band follower, he was strongly attracted to religious orthodoxy. His religious exploration eventually took him into the traditional Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic community for several years. He signed with JDub Records during this time. The non-profit label released Matisyahu’s first album, “Shake Off the Dust...Arise,” in 2004. The album was met with success and was quickly followed up by another two. The artist appeared with Trey Anastasio, one of his musical inspirations, at Bonnaroo in 2005 and played the festival again in 2006. Also in 2006, the live version of Matisyahu’s “King without a Crown” reached the Modern Rock Top 10 in the US.
