SUPERMICRO X9DRI-F Dual Socket XEON LGA2011 Extended ATX Server Motherboard
May 06, 2020
Great board, does the job, has some quirks.
It's a pretty standard dual-processor Supermicro Xeon board, with the caveat that it uses ilm narrow for the CPU heat sink mount and my old Intel board used ilm square. I had to get creative with the AMD heat sink mounts or spend another $110 for Noctua NH-D9DX i4 3U heat sinks that'd fit the Intel ilm narrow LGA2011 sockets. If your old board is ilm square, beware, your CPU cooler heat sinks won't fit the mounts properly. Oh, and it has issues with some of the cheaper SATA 3.0 daughterboards. They just won't recognize so if you were thinking of adding extra SATA drive capabilities with that, well, that's Intel for you. I tried every slot and none worked. YMMV. That said it runs great, it doesn't overheat, and it all 32 processors are humming like mad with the RAM all populated. It's a good little board and I'd definitely buy it again even with the negatives.
Bandai 1/100 Black Display Stand Action Base I BAS5058009
Sep 08, 2020
It's the basic base you've been waiting for
The display stand is designed to work with a wide array of Bandai models and the holes in the base are the same size as the existing model's stand pegs, so you can simply remove the stands from the current bases and put them on the big base! This means you can put whole fleets of (smaller) ships on a single display base, like this one. The wide offset for the central stand means you can put heavier 1/1000 scale models on it without worrying about it breaking. The screw at the top means you can set the angle of your model without worrying about it "drooping" later. All in all, a very solid setup. Now I need to get the Bandai Action Base 4 to compare it to.
Puzzled Big Pteranodon Wooden 3D Puzzle Construction Kit

Impressive four foot wingspan!
It's exactly like the little ones except BIGGER. SO MUCH BIGGER! The pieces fit together well except there's a little looseness where the head and the legs attach to the body, but that's easily fixed with a dab of glue or some paper used to make the connection firmer. It's solid but not too heavy and would hang nicely in any living room. The included sandpaper is way too small for such a large model but that's easily fixed too. The 6mm wood thickness is proportional to the smaller models and makes it very solid. 9.5/10, as a collector of wooden dinosaur models would definitely recommend.
