Can't Beat It For The Price
I needed a tablet as a digital touch screen for a Behringer X18 Digital Mixer I recently purchased, and after some research, decided to go with this. At the time of purchase, I didn't realize Kindles ran a different operating system than my Android phone did. This worried me, as the software I needed to run was designed for Android devices. Thankfully, there are several ways to get Google Play Store to work on your Kindle that are easy and don't require 'rooting' your Kindle as a direct Android device. Since I've purchased mine, I've been able to experience the best of both the Android and Kindle worlds. I haven't had an issues running Android apps on my tablet, the screen is beautiful, and the battery lasts a very decent amount of time - even playing videos. The only issue - the built in speakers are incredibly under powered. Make sure you buy some headphones with it, or use powered speakers. For the price, you really can't beat it.

This is my FIFTH and LAST Kindle IF - IF the power plug in goes bad again like it has on the last 4 Kindles I purchased. I just bought 2 more and this time I paid for the "insurance" - only to find out when I got a copy of the insurance it DID NOT cover plug in problems. Seriously? Well, I am going to give Amazon 1 more try to see if this works. The plug in is tighter than all of the prior, so I HOPE that means they fixed the problem, because they certainly don't do anything for you when they go bad, other than tell you to buy a new one. I love my kindle, this one is the best so far, but everyone has their limit, and this will be mine. Let's see if they finally fixed the problem.

I will start with this since obviously that was the first thing I noticed. In a word, incredible. Now its not "eye popping" or anything out of this world, but I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations and I was (and continue to be) impressed by this piece of hardware's capabilities. I tested out just a few minutes of TV shows, trailers, videos, and films from Prime Instant Video, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Flixster, and Youtube (through the web browser since an app is currently unavailable) and everything looks as it should (and beautiful to boot)! Books come out crisp as well (both in text and picture) and the same goes for basic website visuals, apps, and games. Overall I am very impressed. It's also a very good buy for an 11 year old kid, we would purchase again.

Happy with the purchase, but the power button spring is broke so to turn on and off I have to press really hard. Works perfect for my kids who don't know the difference but if you're looking to give as a gift you may want to buy brand new. Shipped quickly and we're happy with it. I like this yellow. It comes exactly as it shows in the picture. It is a little heavier than I expect. The screen color is not as sharp, especially when a protector is applied on it. It is responsive. App download and file transfer are quick. Overall it is a good deal for this price.
