To commemorate Serena Williams' 23rd Grand Slam title, the Jordan brand gifted the tennis superstar custom AJ1s. Inside the box was a letter from MJ congratulating Serena on her big win. Underneath the letter, there were two sets of shoes. One side had a pair of red and black sneakers. The other side had Hyper Pink and black sneakers. This pair of AJ1 Flares features the latter, which combines Serena's favorite sneaker style (AJ1) with her favorite color (pink). Besides a leather upper, the sneaker features a white midsole and a pink rubber outsole. Serena's embellished initials and the number 23 brand the heel. The Wings emblem sits on the collar, and the Swoosh logo takes a position on the side.
