Laser Toner Refills and Kits for Brother

Choosing the Right Laser Toner Kit

When you use a laser printer instead of an inkjet printer, you'll have to refill toner instead of using ink print cartridges when it's time to fill up your printer. Buying a toner kit gives you everything you need to fill your machine without having to buy separate components, making it easier and affordable to get your computer supplies and/or have them on hand when you need them.

How Do You Know When You Need Toner?

There are several indications that your printer is running low, so it's a good idea to have the kit on hand before you actually need it, just in case you're in the middle of printing an important project for your boss and need to get it done before the end of the day.

  • Some printer models have an indicator light that flashes or lights up to let you know it's time to add toner.
  • You print some documents and they don't look right. This could mean that they're faded, streaky, or have lines in them.
  • Your printer won't function as normal. In fact, it may not want to print at all in some cases, and if it's a combo fax/scanner as well, these functions may not work either.

What's in a Laser Toner Kit for a Printer?

Buying a kit means you don't have to purchase components separately in order to get your printer up and running properly again, and it's usually more cost-efficient than buying individual toner cartridges and accessories.

  • You'll get the toner itself, which typically comes in a bottle. You'll want to make sure that the supplies you're buying are compatible with your specific model of printer, and you can choose from black laser toner or colored ink.
  • Squeeze tops or funnels are usually provided in many kits. These allow you to pour smaller amounts of product out so it won't get everywhere and you won't waste any product while you're filling up your Brother toner cartridge.
  • Some kits come with plastic gloves and wipes to help you keep the product away from your skin and remove any residue that gets onto your printer or desk.

How Do You Fill Up Toner Cartridges?

When it's time to fill up your cartridges, make sure you have the right supplies on hand to refill your black laser toner cartridge or a color toner cartridge using just a few steps.

  • Remove the empty cartridge from your printer and dispose of whatever is left inside.
  • Unscrew the cap that holds the cartridge into place and squeeze the Brother toner into the cartridge carefully by using the funnel tip.
  • Screw the cap back on and put the drum and cartridge back into your printer as it was before. Finally, print out a test page to verify that you inserted the materials properly.
