Royal Alliance: A Peek at the Nike LeBron 15 Kith Collaboration
King James had been working with Nike designer Jason Petrie for a solid decade. But for the LeBron 15, Nike brought Ronnie Fieg into the mix. Fieg was the creative mind behind the KITH design house and its retail and online store.
Working with Petrie's designs, Fieg and LeBron created a number of new shoes for the LeBron 15 Lifestyle and LeBron 15 Performance lines. Together, they launched the collaboration with 2018's "Long Live the King" campaign.
With the KITH collaboration, the LeBron 15 takes all of those pluses already built into the shoes — the Battleknit upper, the Max Air and Nike Zoom Air unit combo for cushioning, the stretchy, sock-like fit — and gives the line a royal makeover. The result? A shoe line fit for a king.

KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Cardozo High School
Let's start this off with the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Ronnie Fieg x Cardozo High School PE. This player exclusive got unveiled at a private event at Cardozo High School in Queens, NY, in December 2017. The school is Ronnie Fieg's alma mater and a local basketball powerhouse. These are some rare shoes — only 40 pairs were offered at the time. The presence of the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Ronnie Fieg x Cardozo High School PE on the secondary market reflects that rarity — as does the price — sometimes selling in the $1,500 to $1,700 range. This sought-after PE isn't exactly the Holy Grail of LeBron shoes, but it's certainly worthy of a knight's quest.
KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Rose Gold
Released in December 2017, the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Rose Gold (AJ3936-900) is a stunning light pink shoe with a rose gold Swoosh and white outsole. It also features the one detail all KITH x LeBron 15 Performance collabs have in common — a single zipper running down the middle of the shoe, all the way to the toe. The zipper on this colorway is, appropriately enough, rose gold. Originally retailing for $200, the shoe typically fetches around $300 to $500 on eBay.
KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Suit of Armor
This is the first shoe in the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance line that truly nails down the "Long Live the King" theme. The KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Suit of Armor (AJ3936-001) features a black Battleknit upper that almost looks like chain mail. Released in February 2018, this Black/Metallic Silver-Black colorway retailed at $255. Since then, its value has only increased. As of April 2021, asking prices for the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Suit of Armor reached as high at $1,900 on eBay, but you can usually find it in the mid-three-digits.
KITH x LeBron 15 Performance King's Cloak
The KITH x LeBron 15 Performance King's Cloak (AJ3936-100) one-ups the Suit of Armor with its overall regal theme. Released in February 2018, the King's Cloak features a clean white backdrop livened by embroidered designs inspired by ancient royal wear. We're talking embroidered green and gold floral patterns and red roses. The back of the shoe even features a king-sized embroidered golden K. And, as usual, there's that zipper down the front. Pre-owned pairs have been spotted topping four digits on eBay.
KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Closing Ceremony
The KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Closing Ceremony (AJ3936-002) has a fitting place not only in the "Long Live the King" campaign but in the entire LeBron 15 line — it was the last shoe to be released for both. The Closing Ceremony colorway was released in August 2018 and looks a lot like the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance King's Cloak, but with one major difference — it's predominantly black. Again, the Battleknit upper makes an appearance, as does the green, gold and red embroidery, plus the signature down-the-middle zipper. This version is also more likely to be found at auction, selling in the $400 to $700 price range.
Collectibility and Value of the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance Sneaker
Although LeBron James and Ronnie Fieg would partner again, this particular series was more or less a one-and-done affair, and the high asking prices and bids are an indication. Based on that, and the KITH x LeBron 15 Performance's relative newness, these shoes are sure to continue to rise in value.
