Nintendo Game Boy Advance Fire Emblem Video Games

What Are Fire Emblem Game Boy Advance Games?

As part of a series of role-playing games, Fire Emblem for the handheld Nintendo Game Boy Advance console is the seventh release in an ongoing storyline. This title launched for the portable Game Boy Advance in 2003, and there are a few things that you need to know before jumping into this game.

What's a Fire Emblem?

Fire Emblem GBA requires you to devise a strategy, making it challenging and exciting at the same time. This title is a prequel to a game called Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and there's some background about the game that can be helpful for new players to know.

  • The action requires participants to engage in hand-to-hand, tactical fighting, and it has a battle theme.
  • The storyline of this GBA title involves family drama, conspiracies, and plenty of missions to complete. During gameplay, you can play in single-player mode or in multiplayer mode.
  • Players are part of a unit that can level up after successful combat. Every level is a mission to complete, and each level is different. You move forward and gameplay progresses onto the next level until the final battle and the ending of the game.
How Do You Play Fire Emblem?

This immersive title drops you into an action-packed adventure that features the story of three lords fighting to keep their land from enemies.

  • You don't actually become one of the characters in this game; instead, your character is more like a third-person director of the army maneuvering the troops.
  • The game follows a linear storyline mode, so each level (or chapter) has a clear objective, and you have to clear the objective to go on to the next chapter. Part of the missions involves being able to win in-game money so you can buy things like weaponry.
  • When your unit continues to move up, it gets benefits and perks like experience points, more defenses, and sometimes even new weapons; however, when your unit is defeated, the game is over. You can save progress after each chapter, though.
What Are Some Fire Emblem Titles?

Since this isn't the only title in the series, there are some other Fire Emblem GBA games and Fire Emblem Gameboy Advance games that you can play should you choose to continue on your adventures with this RPG combat title.

  • Also available for the GBA platform, the precursor to this game, The Blinding Blade, came out in 2002. This was the first game in the series made for a handheld gaming console.
  • Following The Blazing Blade, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones was released in 2005 for the GBA. This game is set in a different timeline, so the story differs. It's also the last title that was made solely for the GameBoy Advance SP.
  • Handheld console gamers wouldn't get another Fire Emblem title until the 2012 release of Fire Emblem: Awakening. This came out on the Nintendo 3DS platform and included updated features and a story that takes place 200 years into the future.
