    Nokia Lumia 830 RM983 AT&T Smartphone 16GB Windows 10 4G LTE Black Dock Wireless

When I started looking for a new phone to replace my other one, I decided to look into a Windows instead of an Android OS. I wanted to see how I liked or disliked the differences. when I did my searches, I wanted to stay away from Verizon and stick with AT&T. I just like them better. Nokia was the choice to get. What I had to decide on was the size. Because of money constraints, I had to settle for a 5 inch screen instead of the 5.7 Lumia 950 or the the even larger 6.0 inch Lumia 1520. So I went with the 830. I love Windows 10- Yes I may be the in the 1 percentile who actually will admit to this.....but I do. I always liked the idea of the active tiles when they came out in Windows 8. Not everyone was a fan. Again- I was. It is very cool that this, and every Windows phone, interacts with your PC. Very cool. The package I got from my seller even provided a wireless charging dock. Awesome. I come home, place it on the dock and it changes. When it's done, it turns off. What I'm not thrilled about is an issue with the front camera. It claims there's an app using it along with an error message to report. I cannot use it. It has the capability of taking really clear pictures but I cannot use it. I called Microsoft and, while they tried to correct the situation, it appears that this issue may not be able to be recoverable. I tried to factory reset the phone- thinking that it may need to have a Hard Reset. But that didn't workout. Perhaps it's a hardware issue. Not sure. Things happen. What can you do? The rest of the phone works great though. All in all, I think the phone is a good value. Anyone looking for a decent Windows phone should give this a try.

    Great features, indestructible

It's a Nokia, that alone tells you how reliable and unbreakable it is... For starters, it has a removable/replaceable battery, holds a SD card for additional memory, great camera, runs many apps at the same time, decent battery life and has an indestructible front screen. I have dropped this poor phone so many times on the streets, sidewalks, marble bathroom floors, from windows, off desk tops; I have tripped and sent the phone flying out of my hands only to see it bounce, the back of the case jettisoned in one direction and the battery in the other and the phone itself ricochet off the sidewalk and skid into the street. And the only damage that came from all of this clumsiness? some minor scrapes on the corners of the phone case, not one scratch on the screen. I LOVE this phone. So many of the features are envied by the people I know that have iPhones or Androids; live tiles, customizable tiles for the people I contact most often that I can then "pin" to my start screen, etc. The only negative thing I can say about this phone is that there aren't as many apps as other operating systems have, but I still wouldn't trade it for any other phone. I have had a Nokia phone since back in the flip phone days, and this one I've had for almost 2 years. Best phone ever.

Great phone if you don't need a huge number of apps

This phone has a nice slim form factor and screen, a very good camera for the price point (save in RAW format is available option), and has the advantages of wireless charging, a removable battery, a micro SD slot for additional storage, and the OS can be upgraded to Windows 10 mobile with the promise of more apps in the future via Windows UWP apps. Also, like every Nokia phone I have had in the past, it has a great radio for cell and wireless reception. It has two downsides for me, which are not deal breakers at this price point. First, the chipset (Snapdragon 400) is not the fastest. In Windows 10 the phone is not slow but not nearly as fast as the Lumia 950 with an 800 series chipset. Second, outside of Microsoft apps and basic apps for email, camera, and maps, the app selection is limited versus iOS and Android. There is a possibility that this situation will improve with UWP apps, but in all likelihood it will never be close to iOS and Android. For me the only thing that is really a problem is the lack of a banking app for my bank. Bank of America just released a new app for the platform, so hopefully my bank will follow.

a good 5 inch alternative to iDroid

So, Nokia has this nasty habit if doing things that the bigs later turn into the flavor of the month. The Lumia line has had curved-edge glass for some time. It has advantages and definitely gives a more smooth, fluid feel to swipes, but also keeps that cool silicone case you just bought from being completely effective (since it's convex, the screen is taller than the phone body). The 830 is snappy enough, takes nice pictures (although advertised as 10MP, mine only allows a max res of 9MP - go figure), has a nice weight and a pretty good screen (not as good as the top-dog 900s, but pay more if you want that). I'd say my only real issue at the moment is that there seems to be no way to turn off motion tracking (this is necessary to work with the FitBit the 830 was offered with from AT&T). I don't have a FitBIt. I don't want my motion tracked. Cut it out. I never thought I'd get a 5 inch phone. I can live with the 830 because it doesn't feel like one.

Really nice phone with solid productivity base. If you're looking for a phone that fits and maintains a balance between work and social life with amazing gaming apps....this is the phone. Note: you wont find most of your regular mobile gaming apps here, but if you are the Xbox owner, then welcome aboard. The phone is slim, good battery life, free Great Apps that are paid for on other platforms. Many Wonderful Apps for Anatomy, First Aid, Survival Guide, Holistic Medicine, Aviation, IT, Morse Coding, Herbs, Yoga, Literature, Novels, Marketing, Live News(Really Good),...just name it, and you will find it there; ALL FREE. I gave it a try and the Seller didnt disappoint me in any way, the clean body and productivity with the amazing price is a huge plus. Do Keep it up!

    Locked or unlocked

Great phone with a great camera, runs on windows 8.1. The only thing is to make sure your phone comes unlock. I had a tough time getting the phone unlock and cost over $50. After that it was a snap to transfer my data from my old phone viva Bluetooth. The screen not to big or to small. Everything you want in a smart phone is there. Cortana is a personal assistant thats finds, tracks, and manages and works quite well. The camera alone is worth it. Runs on lumia denim software with creative studio, storyteller, cinemagraph and more. Makes it fun to take pictures.

    Windows Mobile Lumia 830

It has all the apps that I need. I still like WP8.1 better than WM10. This phone is the perfect size and battery life gets me through more than a day with moderate use. That's with emails syncing, FB, Twitter, and news feeds. The camera is one of the best hands down. Shots taken in low lighting are the best, even with no flash. This is one of the reasons I bought this to replace the 830 that I broke. Only thing I'd like to see are apps for Snapchat and Uber for Uber-drivers. Cheers, Chuck.

    Impressed

My mother specifically requested a phone like her previous Windows phone with the live tiles. The tiles stimulate the memory and help her to understand how to use the phone. She tried an android device for over a year and it was just too much for her to get lost in. This device arrived in excellent condition and included a a charger. It was well packed, as well. Thanks to Tmobile support, I was guided through the appropriate changes for the network settings and my mother has been a happy camper. Great seller.

    Smart phone +

Apart from the fact that it does not have the cornucopia of apps that IOS or Android has, it is a very functional phone that enables me to use as a communication tool and as an like an extension of my laptop It has Windows 8.2 which is cool, crisp graphics, great speakers, fast processor and sized just right to fit the palm of my hand A very sensible phone for one who wants functionality, utility and good value for his phone.

Great phone for the price I paid.

You can not find a better windows phone for the price I paid. Works flawless on Cricket wireless. I crashed my Lumia 735 and bought this to replace it. The unlocked Verizon 735 had a better screen, was smaller, lighter and maybe 5% better battery life. However, the 735 was limited to HSPA+ on Cricket and I had to constantly reboot to connect to WIFI hot spots. Physically I prefer the 735. Speed and connections the 830 is better.
