    Great phone, near perfect

I picked this up as a refurbished phone to replace an older Samsung model. It's so light it feels like one of those empty demo units you often see at the phone kiosks. It is quite a little powerhouse though and doesn't seem to get hung up on any popular apps including video or productivity. I don't play games on my phone so I don't have an opinion on that. Pro's: Light, stylish, pretty powerful, tons of accessories available for it, quick for everyday apps and productivity apps, bright screen with great resolution, great primary camera, LTE speeds if the network you're on supports the bands the version of phone you have has. Con's: - Battery life - I'm not a power user and the battery burns out really quick (5 am to 6 pm) with light to medium internet use for e-mail and research and texting and I'm at 25% by then. - Gets really hot near the camera when being used heavily. Heat is never good for electronics and that heat is coming from directly below the SIM and SD card slots. Back your data up just in case it burns the SIM/SD readers or your cards out. - Phone by itself is a fingerprint magnet and very slippery. Don't even think about using this phone without a case. It will slip/go flying out of your hand very easily. The surfaces are very smooth hard plastic and aluminum. Looks really nice but the aesthetics come at the price of utility. This is the second one of these I've purchased. The first one was for my daughter. It's been very reliable (3 months so far) and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

its an older phone sir, but it checks out.

this thing is awesome. even though its several generations old, it was a flagship phone in its time and its still more powerful than modern mid-range phones. its also very well built in a way that makes it easy to swap parts by hand. i pulled together several broken s4's and made a working phone for half the price it would cost me to get a used mid-range phone or to buy a fully working one of these used. benchmarking this thing gave me scores 3x what i got in my previous phone, a blu vivo 5. the blu wasnt a bad phone by any means, and i have to say that its oled seems a lot better than this one, but theres something wrong with the power connection on mine and good luck opening that thing and swapping out any components. this s4 is also extremely light, weighing much less than my old moto g, even though that was a much smaller phone. my only complaint is that the battery life is terrible, but its also removeable, which is nice. with very light use, you might be able to make it through the day. with moderate to heavy use, you'll be recharging it halfway through the day. you'll want to have a good powerbank or extra battery on hand to reliably make it through the day. enough for two recharges with heavy use. that being said, it charges very quickly, and a good powerbank (at least 5000 mah and 2.1amps) is not hard to get.

A great phone... with some adjustments.

I love the Galaxy S4 device, but being a bigger fan of Stock/AOSP style Android, I usually have to switch from the stock ROM on the device to something like Cyanogenmod. The phone and hardware itself is great. One downside to the device is the AMOLED screen being prone to ghosting and burn-in, which the one I purchased from here has. It was not mentioned in the description of the device so I figured i was safe from it, but nope. Unfortunate as that is, don't let that discourage you... just make sure whoever you're buying from offers returns in case the product does not arrive as described. Fortunately I got a good enough deal that I don't feel it's necessary to return my product, though many people probably would. One other thing I can't recommend highly enough, especially on the TouchWiz ROMs most people will be using, is an extended battery. This phone is pretty relentless when it comes to battery drain. I have purchased the 7500mAh ZeroLemon Extended Battery for this phone and haven't had any problems. It will get through a day or more of medium-heavy usage and comes with a decently protective TPU case to cover the phone and battery.

    great phone

This is a beautiful, sleek and functional cell-phone. I am upgrading from the Samsung Galaxy Fascinate S. I liked that phone, but it was the first smart phone of the galaxy series and it was buggy. I am having no problems running my apps on this phone, except for an occasional freeze- up and restart, usually caused by the Facebook app. I love the thin form factor of the phone, which I have observed to be much more well designed than the S3. The battery life seems to be somewhat limited, often less than 4 hours from a full charge. If you want a less expensive phone, this is it. You will get the thinnest phone with most modern features. Hard to believe it was designed in 2013, so hope that it will be adequate going into the future. (Many apps no longer run on the earliest Galaxies due to software changes in the operating system. This was the main reason I upgraded.)

Galaxy S4 is very nice but miss my S3

The Galaxy S4 is a very nice phone. But the volume buttons are right across from the power switch and if you are switching the phone to standby you can inadvertently shut off the ringer volume. The screen is very sharp, nice. When the phone auto updated to Android 5.01 it brought along some features that I would like to trash. I am still trying to get the phone setup the way my S3 was but some of the apps I had are not available any more. All in all, it is a very nice phone it is bigger than my old S3 but smaller than the newer ones. It is faster than the S3. The camera is very nice. I haven't tried video yet, but the specs are great. This was a very good buy.

I bought this for my husband.

However, I setup the phone for him with apps and his Samsung account, etc. and it works very well. He's very happy with it. Can't tell you how long the battery last, since I don't use it. But the screen is vibrant and easy to use, just like my own phone was. Pictures come out great, speaker works well. Getting the SIMS Card for it was very easy. We just took it in to US Cellular and they put in the new Sims card, no charge. And setup what needed to be setup to get the phone on our U.S. Cellular account.. So all in all, it works just like a new phone and looks like a new phone.

    I love all Galaxy phones!

I finally moved up from an S3, and this phone has all that and more. For some reason, batteries do not last for me, I'm lucky if I can get to lunch on one charge. I carry an extra battery with me, plus a charger if I know I'll be near an outlet. In any case, the phone has every possible thing I could need except for one: I'd love to be able to lock the screen while showing a picture around to a group. someone invariably touches the screen and the photo goes away. But that's not the fault of this phone. Thanks for a great product!

    Greate Phone!

I love this phone! It's better then my samsung galaxy s3 mini phone and the screen is bigger. The battery life last long, but it just take a like an hour or couple hours to charge and it came with a power cord and wall charge, but for some reason the power cord wont charge it. I have one and it charges it.

    Good phone so far.

My first Samsung phone and I like it. Just wish the battery lasted a little longer. I also noticed the music doesn't play as loud as my last ZTE phone. The picture quality is much sharper though. Has a good amount of memory as well. Overall I think it's a good phone.
