Sinestro Collectible Comics Figurines
DC Comics, previously known as Detective Comics, has been publishing comic books since the 1930s. In addition to these action-oriented magazines relating the ongoing adventures of comic-strip superheroes, DC Comics offers other products representing the characters that live in the DC Universe. Figurines allow fans to exalt a hero they love or boo a villain they love to hate, such as Sinestro.
Who is Sinestro?Sinestro is the central supervillain in the Green Lantern comics and graphic novels produced by DC Comics. He is the leader of his own fighting force, known as the Sinestro Corps. Originally an antihero, he is a former member of the Green Lantern Corps who was ejected from the group for abusing the power of his lantern ring. After going solo, he switched to his own yellow power ring that enabled him to fly, create shields, and manifest endless amounts of shapes out of pure energy.
The supervillain's power ring is similar to the ring possessed by Green Lantern Hal Jordan. On his own, Sinestro has the ability to bend space and time. Matter and energy are subject to being under his control as well, making it almost impossible for Green Lantern to foil his sinister plots. This seemingly unlimited power makes him one of the most feared villains in the Green Lantern series and the DC universe as a whole.
Why do people collect these figurines?Sinestro figurines are limited edition collectibles and official DC comics products. The figurines are made to look like the iconic Sinestro from the books. A limited number of copies exist in this authentic DC line of figurines.
What happened in the war between Sinestro and The Lantern? In the graphic novel titled "Sinestro Corps War," there was an intergalactic war between the returning Green Lantern Corps and the newly formed Sinestro Corps. Creating this evil inverse of the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro equipped his diabolical colleagues with Lantern rings of gold that gave them power. These are much more destructive versions of Green Lantern rings. The war began when the planet Oa was attacked and put under siege by the ruthless Sinestro Corps. This was an assassination attempt on Soranik Natu, the Green Lantern of Korugar and niece of Hal Jordan's predecessor, Abin Sur. Although the Sinestro Corps was defeated by the Lanterns and sentenced to death row, Sinestro claimed victory with his dark influence upon Earth and the greater universe.
