2000 Honda Recon Carb
Came in OEM Honda sealed box, real deal (or best knock off I have ever seen). Honda updated these carbs to fixed jets via an epoxied plug. Regular jet from rebuild kits is the same but with the head intact so if you are like me with an old bike or has mods you need to be able to adjust the needles. Left handed drill bits pulled it out no problem, could use regular right hand too I just have a habit of using left handed for extractions. Carb cones with all hoses minus fuel line from tank. No boot for throttle cable but those usually stay with the cable. Great price compared to local dealer wanting $350 for one a week out. My 4-wheeler would NOT run after bolting on this new carb. The pilot screw access (near the bowl) is capped to deny you access to adjust the fuel flow. Once removing the cap, you find that the pilot screw has a “D” shaped head. The pilot screws factory setting is set too lean. You’ll need to find a tool to adjust the “D” head screw (If there’s such a tool), or do like I did and go buy a pilot screw that you can adjust with a flat-head screwdriver. That being said, after those modifications, the carb works as it should. My 4-wheeler would NOT run after bolting on this new carb. Great quality - Don't buy the knock-offs.
The carb shipped quickly and in Honda OEM box. The quality of the item is obvious. I nearly purchased a cheap knock-off, but am glad I spent the extra money on this. The price I paid was still a bargain compared to the dealer. I've cleaned the carb on our 2002 Recon many, many times but it ran rough and finally this fall just quit. I replaced it with this one and the thing runs like brand-new. The only thing I adjusted is the idle screw.The carb shipped quickly and in Honda OEM box. The quality of the item is obvious. I nearly purchased a cheap knock-off, but am glad I spent the extra money on this. The price I paid was still a bargain compared to the dealer. Totally worth the money!
This is an amazing product. I spent months trying to figure out why my other carburetor didn’t work. I eventually gave up and just and bought one, and ever sense I installed it. My atv has had no problems.
