Needed to upgrade the resolution for my PS2. I was contemplating getting the cable with a HDMI end on it but I really didn't want another powered wall wart and figured for the price I'll give this a shot. Wow! My old games never looked so good. Feb 2020

False Ferrite core and poor shielding make for crummy cable!
When I hooked up this cable I immediately noticed a level of audio nose that wasn't present with the sony composite cable. Then I noticed video noise as well, despite the clearer picture that was present due to the component signal. The video was ever so slightly wavy. Upon closer inspection of the cable, I realized that the ferrite core (the little cylinder that's present near the square plug) was false! It's just an empty piece of plastic, totally missing the metal bead that reduces high frequency noise. In an attempt to remedy this, I ordered a snap-on core from Radioshack. Unfortunately, this didn't help at all, indicating that the shielding inside of the cable was poor, and the signals were bleeding into each other. Perfect for PS2
Recently revived my PS2. The component cables make a big difference in the image quality on modern TVs compared to my old stock composite cable. Decent quality cable, the multi pin connector fits a little snug and the insulation on the cables is a little on the soft side, But I don’t plan on moving the setup often, so the cable is durable enough.

Can definitely tell the difference! Don’t expect FULL HD 1080p but you get get a much nicer picture overall. Tested on The Simpson’s Hit and run and could definitely see the difference. Give about a solid 480p across the board. For price you can’t lose. It’s the same if not cheaper as replacing the original cable.

Small but noticable improvement
One of the cheapest plug and play solutions to get more clarity out of your PS2. These cords aren't miracle workers, but they do have a noticable improvement in clarity. I have read that S-Video will improve clarity even more, but I don't have proper inputs to test them out. Overall I do recommend these for the price.
