    Sharp high carbon taps

    Really nice sharp taps. Being used to HSS I was doubtful about using high carbon ones, but they did a real good job so sharp it didn't seem to even stress the tap in either bottoming a hole or drill through tapping. And the threads turned out perfect.

    breaks easy

    You get what you pay for. Ok for soft metals that don't need a lot of threads. Doesn't take much resistance to break the taps. You can see them start to twist as soon as they get a little tight. only three cutting edges, and they don't seem to be very sharp. Compared to a good 4 edged tap that cut like a hot knife through butter on the safe exact item, these are terrible. Drill bit was decent. Would not recommend.

    Got the job done.

    The 6-48 tap is really hard to find at any local hardware stores and jobber suppliers. I tried to borrow one from a gunsmith at the range but he would not let it out of his sight much less his shop. I am so happy that I found this set and now have my scope properly mounted and the tap set is locked in the gun safe. The price was very good for this scarce tap set.

    6/40 taps

    havent used them as yet ,there for a future project seem to be of quality tool steel but with out using them II cant really tell how they'll stand up to threading steel or how long or how many holes I can thread... when I use them I'll give another review.. I did receive them very quickly and service was great.....

    Gun Mods?

    Great product,....the short stout bit is to start your hole where it's needed,.. it wont walk. Then you use the drill bit to drill your hole then you get a Tap for through hole's and a bottom tap for shallow tapping.
