Noted the glass base simply screws off/on to hold whatever you want to put in it. I needed a 3-terminal light socket to wire in a LED night light bulb into the glass base. Now it switches on the regular light bulb as usual and next click to light up bulb in the glass base alone, with next click to light up both bulbs. We've left ON night light continuously since putting in service.
