    ¼ inch “M" style Air Compressor Plug x Female Hose Thread (FHT)

    During Fall, Winter, & Spring, insects occasionally nest in the Garden Hose. This attachment, when connected to an Air Compressor, allows you to blow all the debris out of the hose without worrying about it backing up into the house water supply. I assume it can also be used to blow water out of the sprinkler system, so that your PVC pipes won’t freeze and crack in the Winter. The Air Compressor Plug end is an “M” “Style” or “Type” which is also known as ““I” or “M” or “I/M” or “Mil” or “Military” or “Military Industrial”. This is the most common “Style” used in the USA.

    Great Moneysaving Item

    Using this adapter and your own air compressor saves a $75.00 service call every fall when it's time to drain the sprinkler system. Years ago, I'd cobbled together an adapter of my own using plumbing parts but couldn't find it this fall so I ordered one, as cold weather was arriving and needed to shut down the sprinkler system.

    Great Gizmo

    My plumber turned me onto winterizing through my water heater. Just drain out all the water you can, pressurize your water heater with an air compressor and this gizmo, open the faucets one at a time, turn on the washers until you hear air, and you're done. This adapter makes it easy.

    Simple

    Worked great to clear the water lines to the poolhouse (hose, shower, sink, and toilet) for the winter to prevent freezing and bursting of pipes. My supply side at the main house has this standard hose connection at the shutoff valve feeding out to the poolhouse, so this worked perfectly with my compressor to blow out the lines. Saved me the expense of a plumber/service tech.
